Amma Parenting Classes

Has anyone taken the All-In-One Express Class through Amma? We are first time parents, and have signed up for that class, in addition to Labor Skills and Infant CPR. I was wondering if that would be sufficient or if there other classes you would recommend we take as well. (Such as the breastfeeding class- even though the All In One claims to cover it briefly)

    We took a childbirth prep class through Amma (southdale location) and it was okay - mostly I enjoyed the weekly bonding time with DH, talking about baby stuff.  We probably picked up a few nuggets of helpful information, but nothign earth shattering.

    however, I HIGHLY recommend their breastfeeding class. I consider it the best 35 bucks I spent preparing for baby.

    We took a newborn care and breastfeeding class that was excellent. I would recommend that or the breastfeeding only class. We did the online childbirth prep class because of scheduling issues and it was ok.

    They have some awesome after baby classes too... New Mamas is probably the best thing I did during my maternity leave.

    I took the basic class and loved it. The new mama class was the best thing ever! Two and a half years later we still get the mamas and babies together on a regular basis!

    Oh yeah, I'm still friends with the people in my new mama's group -- we don't have get together's often, but we started a facebook group so we keep in touch that way, and it has been a great resource for troubleshooting, commiserating, celebrating, etc. It was a great get away every week when I was on maternity leave and fumbling my way through the first few months!

    I also took the new mamas class and that was two years ago.  It was by far the best thing I ever did and we all still get together.  Two of us have had 2nd babies since and the other 4 are prego currently.  We are all still friends.  Highly recommend

    We took Breastfeeding, the two day Preparing for Childbirth, Newborn Care and Infant CPR. All were really wonderful. I felt as prepared as possible going into the big day and well-informed about breastfeeding. And my husband was present at all of them, which I think was really important in making him feel like a full 50% partner in our parenting team. I don't know about the express option but I will agree with others that the Breastfeeding class is a must take - learned SO MUCH that helped me in the first few weeks. Good luck and enjoy!
