Hi Ladies,
I pumped with my daughter but was never able to create a stash.
I pumped last night at 3am bc I couldn't get my son to wake. (The pedi said he can sleep through the night, the LC said to wake & feed or to pump to maintain supply).
So, I pumped last night for about five minutes and got 1 oz from my left side and 2 oz from my right side, but now I have a ton of questions:
1. Is the amount I pumped a normal amount? I did not nurse prior to pumping.
2. The milk is in a storage bottle in the fridge. I want to create a freezer stash. Is it ok to transfer the milk from the fridge to the freezer now?
3. How long is breast milk good for in the fridge? In the freezer?
4. I pumped both sides at the same time. Is 5 minutes long enough? My nipples were in pain pumping so I stopped on my flow slowed down.
TIA!
Re: Pumping, Storage, Stash
I am not sure how to use the settings either. I can adjust the suction & the speed. I just turned both all the way up. Is there a certain way I should be adjusting these?
