What kind of ink for baby footprints?

Last time the baby book I bought came with a handprint/footprint kit, but I have a different book this time. I still want to take DS's hand and footprints and should be able to finally get to the craft store tomorrow...so what kind of ink should I get? Do I need to get a special kind of paper to make sure the footprints stay preserved? Help me, crafty people!

    I feel quite certain if you go to a craft store like Michel's or something similar (not sure what you have in the states) you'll find a baby hand and footprint kit.

    Oh that would be perfect. I'm actually in Canada but was planning to go to the Michaels here...hopefully there is something like that!
