April 2014 Moms

@Elf2718 Birth Story (LONG)

Whew! Its been a journey...

On Monday, the 21st, I began having real contractions. My fiancé timed them and they were about 5-6min apart. We walked a bunch and I sat on the ball at home. He even took off of work because we thought it might be "go" time soon.

After having the same scenario on Tuesday, I talked my fiancé into going into work for half night shift. Well, it came and went.

Wednesday, the 23rd ( my EDD), we walked all over. So sick of walking at that point. Again, talked him into going into work...this time for the entire shift.

I met my parents for dinner and when we got to restaurant, I felt like i peed my pants. Went to the bathroom went pee...only it was clear with teeny white flecks. Sat through dinner but talked.Mom into coming over and hanging out.

At 9 pm, I was contracting badly...told Mom about my "urine" and she made me call 24 OB...who told me to go to L&D. Called fiancé and had him meet us there.

Upon getting results from lab about fluids, they admitted me and started.the IV fluids. I was placed on pitocin around early AM on 24th. Baby B didn't like it....his HR dropped and the nurses slapped O2 on me and had.me flip to all fours. I was nervous, but HR went back up. Turned off pit. I slept.

Placed back on Pit in afternoon...only stronger this time. Not a fun drug!! I was in so much pain and kept crying. Finally at 2am, I was dilated and ready to push. I proceeded to push for 2h40min but he wasnt really shifting. At 4:45am, Doc came in and checked me...realized he was sunny Side Up and then his HR dropped again. No natural for me....

Performed c-section and had Baby B--Mason Leon--@5:09am. He wasnt crrying when he came out..... swallowed meconuim and scored 1on Apgar. I was crying and kept asking fiancé if he could see our son. Luckily, the amazing team at the hospital got him going and he scored 8 & 9 afterwards.

I didn't get to hold hm until almost 8 am. But he is a cutie.

    My Lil Mason. Unfortunately I ended up in ER Tuesday night because the bandage over staples came open. I swear....it has been a bumpy ride.
