PSA: Paint for the Nusery

Not sure if I am the only one still no where near starting the nursery but just wanted to let you know that Lowes, Menards and similar home improvement stores sell mistinted and returned paint for 5-10$. My husband passed by the paint desk today and snagged the exact paint color we wanted and it is a very nice Valspar paint. I have greatly enjoyed the deals others have shared so hopefully this can help one of you get a nice paint for your nursery. Have a great Friday tomorrow!

Nothing against op-er but this one makes me want to barf. I sell paint for a living and mistint shoppers are the Bain of my existence in this career.

^^^^ what? I don't understand? Be frustrated with the people who didn't like the paint to begin with, not the person that picked it up because the store decided to put it back on clearance.

Hard to explain @tourqeyes‌ but mistints don't make money. They take up time and space. And people coming through to rifle through them is a road block in my day. I would rather sell a pallet of mistints at a quarter each to a mistint guy than every single homeowner that's trying to save $20.

They make more money bought as mistints than trashed. It isn't the buyer's fault a mistint happened. I buy pricey paint for my walls, but I build furniture and stuff and buy mistints for that all the time. I get if it is annoying that they happen in the first place, but seems extreme for it to be the bane of your existence for people to buy them.

I've bought mistints before, and Lowe's has those small sample jars I've gotten for $1 to use for small furniture, etc.

Um, I can't afford full price stuff alot, so discount paint is my first option.

How do mistints not make money? I'm curious.

It really shouldn't be that big of a roadblock to your day if someone picks up a can of paint that wasn't tinted correctly.

We've gotten great paint from mistints! I had a mistint happen once when a color came out bright green rather than dark blue and the person working the paint desk was such a dick about us not being happy with it. I didn't want bright green? We ended up finding almost the same color blue as a mistint so we went with that. Don't really care if they didn't make money, it's not my job as a customer to make sure a company makes money.
