I've had three solid appointments. Today's 14 week appointment allowed me to hear that sweet, sweet sound again. 132 beats per minute. Sounded pretty strong to me. I'm finally willing to tell our extended family! Stick, baby, stick! Grow, baby, grow! :-)

Do any of y'all believe the "low heart rate = boy" superstition?

I believe in the "how recently and what kinds of food has mama eaten today?" theory of fetal heartrate.

whenever I eat just before an appt, this LO's heartrate is in the 170s. Whenever I've skipped lunch or something, it's in the 150s.

Just for fun, have you looked at the chinese calendar thing? That thing has been creepy accurate for the existing people I've tried it on.

Congratulations!!! My first appointments the heart rate was 171 and 168 and we found out it was a boy. Sooooooo...the low heart rate thing wasn't true for us.

Congrats. Both of my boys heart rates were 160-170 range. This one was 167 and 156. I think the chinese calendar is right about 50% of the time. I don't believe that thing either.

Yep. It suggests boy, too. All of the charts + heartbeat suggest boy. I've decided all of it is crap. lol I'm determined to be #TeamPink

Congrats! I get to see LO tomorrow again. DH will not be with me this time due to work. I will also be meeting with the high risk doctor. Was hoping DH could go also to metthe doctor as well. But not this ttime. Can not wait to see LO again. Hopefully hear and see the hb.

We're having a girl and her heart rate has been all over the place. 149 week 7; 160 week 12; 144 week 16.5.

I don't have another xholsntp compare her to but from what I've hears boys vary just as much.

Congrats! The heartrate thing was true for my first two boys, this time Mat21 says its a boy but the heartrate has been150-175 so apparently not true. Also the chinese calendar said boy for my first two and girl for this one....and I'm on my third boy, so also not true.
