Gas

We were using enfamil infant from a sample i received. Once that ran out i switched to enfamil gentlease. I thought that since he did OK with the regular enfamil that the gentlease would be OK too, but he has more gas now on the gentlease than before. He would never cry before because of gas pains. Am I crazy? Is it possible that the gas is from the formula switch?

Re: Gas

  • It could be but it might not be.
    How old is your LO?
My DD started to fuss when she passed gas around a week/week and a half. I'm not sure why but my pediatrician said its very common. I EBF so it's not a question of the formula. She's 5 and a half weeks now and is still doing it.
If you want to know if it's the different formula try switching her back to the original formula she was taking and see if the gas goes away.

My LO is using Newborn Enfamil and gets gasy but he releases it.when burped half way through his meals. When we were on the go, we used the yellow instant packets and he did not like those at all. They caused too much spit up. We went to store and bought premixed Newborn Enfamil bottles for diaper bag.
It could be the switch..... is how eating too quickly?

  • Yesterday he made 1 month.
I am starting to think its constipation, no poop diaper yesterday which is not like him. Is there a way to tell if he is eating too quickly? We use dr browns with level 1 nipples and he usually eats without making a mess.
