When can you start working out? Ride a bike? Do you wait util your 6 week checkup with the doctor before you head to the gym?
I had my baby two weeks ago and I am starting to feel better. I am not ready now and I am not in a rush. I just was wondering when you could go back. I have 10 more pounds to lose.. and I wouldn't mind losing a little more because I was a little overweight before I got pregnant.

I've heard that after the 6th week appoinment the Dr let us come back to our regular excercise routine if there's no complications. Can't wait to start loosing those extra pounds!

I had a C/S so I got the ok to walk after 2 weeks, all other activities after 6. I would just be careful as your body is healing after giving birth. Whenever I pushed myself and did too much, my bleeding would either start back up and/or get heavier.
I started walking 2 weeks after my c-section. However, I waited until 6 weeks to start running and doing other activities like crunches. I wanted to let my body heal.
C/s here too. I was told two weeks before "going for walks" (obviously I was up walking around the house before that), and to wait until my 6 week appointment before doing any other exercise (including swimming).
Having said that, I think to some extent you can let pain be your guide. Personally, I won't be doing any heavy-duty cardio before my 6-week, but I might try to increase the speed and distance of my walks, or start doing some light upper-body exercises or hand-weights (knee or wall push-ups, curls, etc) as long as I'm not in discomfort and don't notice any increase in bleeding.
I am at 10 days PP and went for my first walk yesterday. I definitely took it easy but it was so nice to be outside and moving. My OB did say walking was fine but to limit strenuous activities until I see him at 6 weeks.
As others said, if you push it, your bleeding is likely to increase again. You can certainly try some limited activity, like walking on the treadmill, and see how that feels. But when you go to the gym, I would not jump right into a class or heavy duty cardio and lifting or anything like that.
