Re: diaper bag suggestions

  • My MIL just bought us ours, based on my partner's desire for a backpack-type bag.  We looked at a few in BRU and told her which ones we liked.   I think this is the one we got (I don't remember!  I veto'd a couple of them, but am not really sure which ones made the final cut, I wasn't too fussy about it)

We have a friend that has a Petunia Pickle Bottom boxy backpack and having used that when babysitting her kids occasionally for the past couple of years we found that it was nice enough (and has held up GREAT for her through 3.5 years and two kids) - but wasn't super comfortable for us to carry around, and didn't match what we wanted in terms of style/functionality.

A backpack was super important to my partner for comfort (she has back troubles and a shoulder bag would pull unevenly), and we got the double City Mini GT which says you're not supposed to hang anything on the handlebar anyway.   I just wanted lots of pockets and easy access myself.

  • We are registered for the skip hop grand central diaper bag and the skip hop duo double deluxe. Both of those seem to be able to hold enough for two. Though I'm curious how the veteran MoM's will respond! We also already have petunia pickle bottom crossbody bag that is cute but probably not large enough. I also don't know if it will attach to the wide double stroller as nicely as the skip hops will. We also have and will probably often use regular back packs to reduce back strain.

    A & K, married 7/1/13.

After 10 months of ttc via medicated IUIs and two early losses, we finally got our boys- Perfect premie twins born 5/27/14.

  • I got the Skip Hop Duo Double Deluxe. It's packed and ready to go with all the babies stuff for the hospital. Very roomy! And I love how it hooks onto the stroller

  • I bought a Vera Bradley weekender to use at first because I will have three in cloth diapers.  I also have a Ju Ju Be Be Right Back for when I have to carry less and shorter trips.

  • Twins aren't here yet...so not sure if my opinion counts as much :) I bought the jujube be prepared for longer trips. It has so many pockets and I can already see how easy it will be to use and organize! It is big though, hence why I just got a petunia picklebottom boxy for shorter/local trips during their outlet sale :)

Currently have the be prepared packed with my stuff as a hospital bag and the boxy for the twins hospital bag. I've also used the be prepared as a overnight bag for myself when going out of town and can see myself doing so down the road once the babies grow up.
  • Thanks for posting this! I've been wondering the same thing. DH just asked me last night what we were going to do for a diaper bag w a 2 year old and new twins boys. I also appreciate all the feedback ladies!

I have a Perry Mackin (not sure if that's spelled right). There are different types but the one I have is larger than the others. I really like it. It has several pockets on the inside and 4 on the outside.
  • My babies are also inside so take it for what it's worth!

We're using 2 - one regular backpack and one Skip Hop Duo Double. We're starting to pack the Skip Hop now and it's pretty roomy and has a lot of pockets. We also have the City Mini GT Double and it fits over the handles (which you're not supposed to, but we're likely doing anyways - the bag isn't that heavy).

  • I have inside babies too but we are doing the same thing as @katekat8721

  • I have an 18 month old DD and currently use the JuJuBe BFF and love it, so I've purchased the Be Prepared now. Haven't used it yet, but it's big so I'm hopeful! Will use it as our hospital bag, and it should be good for that.
