TI Question

Gave myself my trigger shot last night and BD. From what I've read...most people BD 3 nights in a row after the trigger (Ovidrel). However, my RE gave me instructions to BD the night of the trigger, abstain the next day, and THEN BD 3 nights in a row. Has anyone else been given similar instructions? Should I just BD 3 nights in a row starting now? I typically ovulate on my own on CD 14, which would be tomorrow. Perhaps the Ovidrel will change that but I've read you can ovulate 12-36 hours after the trigger! I just don't think skipping today is a good idea....SO doctor's orders or not???

we have similar directions, though we are doing IUIs

We are told to have sex the day of trigger, abstain the next day, have have sex the evening of the IUI, and the next day. DH doesn't have a count issue, we probably could have sex the day before trigger, but we just go ahead and stick with the RE's instructions.

I actually don't think my siggy works because everytime I post there is nothing...but anyways....

we are also unexplained infertility just like you! SA and all of my tests were normal! I'm hoping it holds us over...I just read a lot of other postss saying they do 3 days in a row and it made me nervous!

My RE says if your SA is normal, you're free to have sex as much as you want. Mine recommends the night of trigger, the next night, the next morning, and also the following night (so trigger night, 24 hours after, 36 hours after, and 48 hours after). Honestly, that's a lot for us. If you look at timing, the best chances are pre-O, then up to and including O day. Since you O 36-40 hours after trigger, plan accordingly. My husband also doesn't do his best work in the morning, plus the stress of doing TI, so figure out when you guys are going to be most comfortable.

My RE says the night of trigger (if you trigger in the morning) & the next night, but we've never technically done a TI cycle. We just did this time on our own by default.

We do TI too with no known problems. My RE has us have sex (he calls it relations) 12 and 36hrs after trigger. We actually usually do ED for about 4 days in a row and the last time being the 36hrs after trigger. After that I'm over sex for weeks.

I am so torn on what to do but I think we are going to BD tonight despite the doctors orders.... I just know my body typically ovulated on CD14...I'm crampy today (CD13) and would hate to miss ovulation!

I'd go for it...esp since you have no MFI...maybe the overall numbers will be down but the % of strong ones prob will be comparable. Plus you don't want to regret not doing it.
