DH got home from work and went upstairs and the dog had peed, pooped and thrown up and was just laying there. DH tried to get him up but he wouldn't move. He finally got him downstairs but he was really lethargic and when he tried to lie back down he could not put his back end down. He was just shaking a quivering.
So they are on their way to the emergency vet. I feel horrible because I have no idea how long he was lying up there like that. We think maybe he had a seizure or stroke but we're not sure. He is 12 and has not had a single health issue until now. Hopefully they can do something for him.
UPDATE - I'm not sure if this is good or bad but they really did not find anything that is obviously wrong with him. His blood work and neurological tests were fine. They did x-rays and think they may seem something in his abdomen but it is not clear. So maybe he has some internal bleeding but they're not sure. We have to follow up with his regular vet in a couple of days who will probably do an US.
Meanwhile he still looks so pathetic and has just laid on the floor right next to DH's side of the bed all night. He barely seems to want to move. :-(
UPDATE 2 - Otto got up and had breakfast, etc. this morning but since then he is totally lethargic. We couldnot get him to get off of his bed And his breathing was really slow. The vet said bring him in now. DH had to carry him out to the car because he couldn't get up. So now I am crying all over my baby while she's BFing and worried sick. It just really doesn't seem good.
