PSA: Aden & Anais swaddle blankets on Amazon

Hello friends.

1. I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack, after a long hiatus. Sorry to disappear! Would anyone like to summarize all the juiciness that has happened while I was away? And for those who wondered--I successfully defended my Master's thesis on Wednesday! It's been a good week.

2. Aden & Anais (the original, boutique ones, not the "made for Target/BRU/etc." version) swaddle blankets are on an insane sale on Amazon.com right now, but only in certain colors. They're usually $49.99, and today some of them are $34.99! This morning I bought the "jungle jam" set, but that appears to already be back to $50. Here's a link to at least one color that appears to still be on sale. These blankets are BANGIN'. We've bought a few already, and they're amazingly soft--especially after washing. I'm a FTM, so I can't speak to how well they work as swaddles, but they're soft, light, and seem perfect for a summer LO!

edited to fix link.

  • Yay!!!  I was happy to see the title of this thread (love A+A!), even happier to see who started it :)

I never used these as swaddles, tbh.  I used them for all sorts of things - as a regular blanket, to cover the carseat, as a nursing cover.  In fact, M still uses one all the time - she loves to cuddle with them at bedtime, and she'll be 4 in August, so I think I need to register for a new set.

  • Yay! I love these.
  • I just ordered a pack of B-Jeweled!!!
  • I just ordered the Princess Posie ones for 35!  My mom bought me another set from BBB, but I figured with twins, you can't have too many!  I will probably be using them for things other than nighttime swaddling since I also just got a bunch of woombies and swaddle pods…

    Anyway, thanks for the PSA!!!

  • If you have a Buy Buy Baby near you, they have 4 packs for $34.99 in store, and then you can use a 20% off coupon to make them around $28.  Just picked up a pack the other day and washed them today and they are sooooo soft! Can't wait to snuggle baby boy in them SOON!!
  • Wait, are the ones from Target/Babies R Us/ Bye Bye Baby different from the boutique ones? I registered and got a pack of four from Target but am I missing out on the full greatness of them?

I think they're a little smaller?  At least the Target ones are, I believe.

Yes, the ones at Target/Bru are a little smaller, not as thin, and not as soft. Although they are still great quality, the bigger ones are better. If you can get the "classic" for the same price as the Aden by Aden and Anais ones, I would jump at the chance.

Yay! I just bought 2 sets of the ones I registered for, for $34! FYI, at Homegoods they have the cheaper versions for $9.99-$14.99. I stocked up on sleep sacks and stroller blankets too.

  • Thanks! I just bought the Jungle Jam set. I guess it is back down to $34.99.  I added some Nose Frieda filters for $2 to get to the $35 needed for free shipping!

Ladies, how many of these blankets/swaddles do you think I need?? I have 8 Aden & Anais ones. Is that enough?
  • Thanks for the heads up!!!  I already have 8 swaddle blankets but have been wanting to get a couple of the dream blankets and found out they are also on sale (34.99 instead of 49.99) :)

    Yes, definitely. :)
    Thank you!!
  • Fantastic! I haven't used the A&A blankets yet, but I have heard nothing but good things.  Any reason why you experienced moms like these better?
--I'm going to go ahead & order a pack.  I had no idea the ones at the stores were different - I have a boy pack on my registry.

I got mine's at HomeGoods this weekend for $16.99 and now I wish I had grabbed two packages. I registered for one but I'm tempted to get the ones from Amazon now that they are on sale just in case I don't get them.

On April 14th, I bought a pack for $31.56 on Amazon.  I received them and think they will be great and will probably order another pack!

Thanks for the head's up!   I've been lusting over the dream blankets for a while now and the only pattern they have that's still $34.99 is the one I love! (Medallion)  I couldn't process spending $50 on a blanket but can handle $35 a bit more :)   I have 6 A&A swaddle blankets so really couldn't justify another pack of those, even though I love the bejeweled set.  *sigh*

I couldn't choose between medallion or bejeweled and ended up getting bejeweled. :) I get them today, I'm pretty excited.

  • @chickpea912, @mtrhomegirl, @mullenem, and others who have experience with the dream blankets--are they worth the hype? I'll buy one today if they really are as good as they say. I know the swaddles are worth it, but I have never even seen the dream blanket in person. What do you use them for?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

@deepoceanmama I don't actually have any experience with the dream blanket but I've heard good things about it.

Just wanted to say, there isn't much you NEED with a new baby.  Honestly.  You need something for them to sleep in, some clothes, some diapers, a carseat.  Everything else is bonus.  You probably don't NEED these blankets.  They are nice - I do find a multitude of uses for them and M, who is 3 1/2, still loves to have one in her bed from time to time.

Just wanted to mitigate that - these aren't a necessity by a long shot.  I'm not even getting mine to primarily swaddle the baby - I have another "need" for that (Miracle Blanket).

  • my DD who is now 6 has a "lovey" and it is with her every night in bed and i thought with this little one i would get a dream blanket and hope it would become her lovey:)  Plus there are so many uses for them and i know i will get good use out of them!!!

I bought a dream bamboo dream blanket for my little guy.  Instead of going way of the expensive crib bedding I choose to do a matching set from A&A instead.  I haven't used it yet since he isn't here but I can say it is ridiculously soft and cozy.  I'm hoping to be able to use it for floor time and cuddle time at least until he needs a blanket to sleep with when hes older.
Before anyone judges and says huh that isn't cheap crib bedding - I have a friend that works for best buy and was able to order these items for me online with her staff discount bringing it down to almost half the price!
