When I need to take something I always take Colace. I don't know if its the chiropractor or the multi grain peanut butter Cheerios but lately things have been flowing a lot better. Also try to drink a ton of water and eat fruit. Grapes have helped me in the past and I know others on here have had luck with prunes.
I've been using colace, but it is more of a stool softner I think than a laxative. Is there a reason you don't want a powder? I have been taking Metemucil once a day for almost the entire pregnancy and it has really kept me stay regular. It is a bulking laxative, so it shouldn't cause alot of contractions of your digestive system. I have also been using prune juice every night before bed. In the morning, I drink hot black tea with a tsp of honey to get things going in the AM.
