My LC recommended I attend some local LLL meetings, but I'm a huge introvert and am nervous to go. What should I expect? Are they structured, laid back, etc.? What are the meetings like if you've been? Did you find them helpful or just clique-y?

Re: La Leche League
The vibe of the meetings seems to depend a bit on the region. I am an introvert too and was nervous to go, but my chapter meetings are so laid back and supportive, I was totally comfortable and I actually wish I could still go! At my meetings there would be a topic of the day, but first we would go around the circle and introduce ourselves and bring up any issues we were having. We dealt with everyone's issues before moving on to the topic of the day. At my first meeting we spent a good 15 min just talking about my issue. It was SO GREAT! Other mamas got hands-on help with a difficult latch, advice on traveling with a BFing infant, advice on tandem nursing, etc. etc. Definitely not cliquey at all.
My sister, who was supplementing with formula, went to a different chapter meeting in her area, and felt a bit looked down upon for using formula. So I think it really depends. If I were you I would give it a try and see how it goes - if it's helpful, it will probably be REALLY helpful. GL!
