  • How Far Along Are you: Holy Crap! 26 weeks!
Week's Successes/Challenges: I'm travelling for work this week, so I  haven't worked out the past 2 days.  I got my ass up early this morning for an elliptical session and I feel accomplished! At this point, I'm also going to count walking around a lot :D.
GTKY: What activity have you always wanted to try, but haven't... yet? There are probably a few, but I'll say outdoor rock climbing.  Now that I live in CO I feel like that's something I can easily tackle in the near future.

How Far Along Are you: Almost 23 weeks.. Getting close to Vday :)
Week's Successes/Challenges: I did pretty good this week- ate pretty healthy and got some good workouts in. Running is actually getting easier, which is nice. I'm sure I only have a few weeks of this before I really start getting big and it gets hard again.
GTKY: What activity have you always wanted to try, but haven't... yet? Barre workouts seem really fun to me. That's the only one I can think of. Oh! and spinning!
  • How Far Along Are you: 23 weeks 5 days
Week's Successes/Challenges: I did my first prenatal yoga class, and I bought a Groupon for 10 classes, so 9 more to go.  It was my first yoga class and I'm not used to focusing on my breathing so much.  I think it'll be helpful for labor, maybe.  I was also very sore afterwards, so that's good.  I also made it to the gym yesterday for some cardio, but it made me so sleepy.  Donuts have continued to challenge me with their deliciousness.
GTKY: What activity have you always wanted to try, but haven't... yet?  I started doing a C25K, but never passed week 2.  I would like to work on that since I don't have very good lung capacity and I think that would help.  Also, running you can do anywhere so it would cut down on excuses to not workout.

  • How Far Along Are you: 24 weeks today!
Week's Successes/Challenges: Successes- I think I've realized my hip thing is related to how I sit at work (I work from home). I have starting changing how/where I sit every few hours and this seems to be helping a LOT. My challenge was the mind f#ck that is not running (on the few days I wanted to give my mind a break) but I think I overcame it. I did some strength training and while running is my jam, it was nice to remember that I'M STRONG feeling that comes from lifting. I ran 5 M/T/W, will do an easy run today, tomorrow will be rest, Saturday will be 6-ish miles with my run club, then my 12k race on Sunday. I would have loved to do a longer run this weekend, but doing back to back on Sat/Sun will be a good substitute.
GTKY: What activity have you always wanted to try, but haven't... yet? Crossfit. I've done lots of modified WODs and some of my exercise classes have had really Crossfit-esque workouts but I've never ponied up the dough to experience it first hand. I think this might be part of my baby recovery plan.

CROSSFIT IS AWESOME!! I can't wait to push this kid out so I can start it again :)

    24 weeks....

I left home Tuesday & will get home tonight...LONG days.  I did wake up yesterday morning & get in a quick run around OKC before leaving our hotel.  I ran Monday (3 miles) & I'm hoping to do a long run (10 miles) tomorrow, but otherwise totally slacking on pushups/stretching :(

Got a bike ride planned for Saturday.

I'd love to try cross-fit, but between marathon training & tri training last summer, it never seemed like a good time to commit.  Maybe a good thing after baby if I'm having a hard time returning to my regular running schedule.
oh hai neighbor! How'd you like OKC? Did you check out Bricktown? If you wanna come check out beautiful Lawton, I'm just down the road haha
  • GTKY: What activity have you always wanted to try, but haven't... yet?  I've always wanted to run a 5K.  I'm not a runner at all, and I live on dirt roads, so I don't have a really good place to train, but it's still on my bucket list.
Dirt roads are the best to train on!  Much easier on your joint than pavement or asphalt.

  • How Far Along Are you: 26 weeks, 3 days

Questions?: Anyone else starting to get HOT during workouts? Bring on the hydration, it's going to be a long June and July.

Week's Successes/Challenges: Good week all around, all 5 workouts, made it through my run which feels like a small triumph each time :) Eating almost too healthy, though not intentionally, I just accidentally bought too many veggies at the market. It might be time to have a cookie.

GTKY: What activity have you always wanted to try, but haven't... yet? I'd love to do a half marathon sometime in the next couple years, and then perhaps a marathon depending how the half goes. There's a guy in my building who teaches krav maga. Was going to sign up with him for lessons just before I got pregnant, so had to postpone.

Welcome to the check-in.  My H ran the SF half a few weeks ago and was humbled by the hills.  It looked like a challenging course, but a very cool one to sight see in.  It was his first time in SF, so I think it was definitively a good way to see the city!

I may aim to do the BK half in May 2015.  Let me know if you decide to go for that one too!

  • How Far Along Are you: 26 weeks...yikes!

Week's Successes/Challenges: It was moving week, going from a 2nd story apartment to a townhome with 3 levels, so given all the boxes and staircases, I gave myself a break for the last few days. I plan on getting one of those pregnancy workout dvds this weekend and giving those a try.

GTKY: What activity have you always wanted to try, but haven't... yet? I actually did my "dying to try" activity two weekends ago, I went target shooting with a .22 rifle. I couldn't tell you much more than that, except it was the perfect rifle for a first-time, pregnant lady and I shot better than my husband :-) I've never been much for hunting (it just sounded too boring to me in the past) but now I might be more open to it...as long as someone else promises to deal with the dead animal afterward.

  • @RunningJ and @zoegirlTX - CrossFit is awesome, definitely give it a try sometime (after baby gets here :) )!  I love it!
And I know a lot of people who have cut back on marathon and tri training, replacing that time with CrossFit and get new PR's at their next marathon or tri.

How Far Along Are you: 26 weeks, 3 days
    Questions?:
Week's Successes/Challenges:  Life has gotten in the way of getting to the gym as often as I would like to, but I have gotten in some great CrossFit workouts this past week.  One workout I did not want to do the large number of sit-ups (since I would have been on my back) and I was still able to replace the sit-up's with Toes to bar, so that made me feel really good!  I am still able to lift some heavy weights, and not feel strained at all.
Eating healthy is my big challenge though.  I bought a bunch of chocolate this past weekend, and have definitely indulged a bit too much :(
GTKY: What activity have you always wanted to try, but haven't... yet?  I want to go mountain biking!
