OB Recommendation in Woodbury, MN

Possibly going to start looking for a new OB soon and was curious if anyone has any suggestions for me.

My current OB/patient relationship feels a little disconnected.  This is my 2nd pregnancy, (first ended with a miscarriage early on at 6 weeks), and the questions that I ask aren't really being answered in a manner that I appreciate.  Yes, Google is an endless source of information, but with contradicting answers. I'd prefer to receive the answers directly from my OB (an actual degree holding doctor) without being talked to like I should already know the answers to my questions.

There are plenty of hospitals and establishments geared to pregnant women, but I'm wondering if any of you can point me in the right direction to begin looking.

Thank you in advance! :)

Re: OB Recommendation in Woodbury, MN

  • Dr. Jory Burroughs!!!  He owns his own clinic on Woodlane called Crown OB/GYN and he delivers at Woodwinds.  They have a Facebook page and there you will see tons of great reviews.  I moved to Woodbury during the 38th week of my pregnancy and was very nervous to have to find a new OB, but Jory was AMAZING!  He calmed my every fear and answered all of my questions.  I had the best experience with the last few weeks of my pregnancy and wish he had been my Dr the whole time.  He really listens to you during visits and makes you feel comfortable.  Plus, since I was new to the area, he gave me some good tips about some things to check out in Woodbury.  He even recommended grocery stores and gyms to join in the area.  He is awesome!

  • Thanks, ladies! Those are two great options. Crown is about 2 blocks away from me and my Primary doc is at Woodwinds. But I would love to keep my OB and pediatrician the same doctor.  I will definitely look into both.

  • Dr. Stephanie Callanan is AMAZING! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.  It was my 1st pregnancy so I always had a zillion questions - she took her time to answer them and never made my appointments feel rushed. She's at Allina in Woodbury on Radio & Valley Creek.

  • I love Dr. Flynn at MetroOBGYN, but she is not a ped. also.  I could definitely suggest a Woodbury ped though, if wanted.

  • Baram at Health Partners - he's also who you want in your corner if you end up with any complications no matter how big or small with how he handles them.  When he tells you it's time to be concerned it's time to be concerned...  Otherwise, if it's nothing to worry about he flat out says so...

  • You're going to have a really tough time finding an OB and pediatrician in one.

I second this recommendation, ive been seeing her since week 16 (27 weeks now) after being really dissatisfied with my first OB (normal doc is a NP so that was not an option for pregnancy). She's really wonderful :)

  • I actually wanted somebody that supported natural birth...I ended up at Hudson with Dr. Hartung...he is amazing. I switched from METRO OBGYN because of their high c section rate.
  • Any of the Drs at Comprehensive Healthcare for Women in Woodbury, I chose Dr Klos specifically
  • I also saw dr Klos at comprehensive healthcare for women, but like all other providers there too. Love the clinic, welcoming waiting room, great staff, women's only clinic makes it feel a bit cozy in my opinion. I delivered three weeks ago (with dr mahan), and ended up calling after hours a couple of weeks ago with some concerns. Spoke with dr Klos who happened to be on call. She was genuinely concerned and cared about how we were doing, knew how labor went and that our daughter had been transferred to children's, and had a lot if great advice over the phone that went above and beyond the reason for my call. They also have the 'pampered pregnancy' which is really nice.
