CPW: Mother's Day Expectation

Curious to know what is your expectation for Mother's Day this year?
"The cleaning, the scrubbing will wait til tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So, quiet down cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep."

    Good CP! :) I clicked I expect a card and/or flowers but I don't really EXPECT it, I just assume DH will do that because he always does. He even did last year while I was pregnant :) I kind of always expect nothing and anything bonus is a nice surprise :)

    I LOVE that you guys are going to breakfast...but I HATE when DH asks me what I want to do/for an occasion that's for me.  If you wanna get me something, be clever and figure it out...  I'd be happy with a breakfast out too, if he thinks of it!  ;-)

    Then again, I guess I understand being asked too - its your/my day after all, so might as well do what we want!  OK yep I've confused myself.

    Now...will that breakfast burrito be shared by all???  Or is it somethign 1 person can handle - I honestly can't picture it!

    I said expecting something but not counting I on it. I'm sure I'll get a card & maybe flowers...but I've asked time & time again to get something more meaningful. Something that shows me he put thought & effort Into it. It doesn't need to be expensive...just not a card signed only with his name & grocery store flowers on his way home.
    I did tag him in a post on FB about Mother's Day journal. Basically an empty journal & each year the dad & kids write on one page. It becomes a keepsake over the years. We shall see if he takes the "hint hint" I typed literally.

    I chose a card and flowers because I know DH will at least do that. He gets me flowers and cards all the time from the baby for no reason. He puts a pen in her hand and has her scribble on the card as her "signature". I bet he will also do something involving pictures of her. He always comes through with great sentimental gifts.

    Knowing my DH's track record, his go-to gift is jewelry.  I can't complain 8->
    However I would love love love something special made by LO.  Even a few scribbles on a card would make my day <3

    I voted for the card option but it would be awesome to get something more sentimental. I really like Willow Tree figurines, so a mom one would be perfect. I don't think H even realizes Mother's Day is coming up LOL

    I said card/flowers...but I feel like I'll have to remind him its coming. I have to do that for him about his own Mom evey year. He also starts a new job the next day, so I think his mjnd will be elsewhere... we'll see!

    I said something small. I asked DH for a tea infuser travel mug. Honestly, he'd do whatever I wanted, I'm just not making a big thing of it since I'm working Mother's Day anyway. Last year he got me tickets to see The Lumineers though, that was pretty awesome.

    We have spent WAY too much money this month, and it was on things that I wanted, so I already have my Mother's Day Gift, Birthday gift, and probably Christmas gift......

     

    I told DH that I want a pancake breakfast that morning, and a long walk with him and LO.

    It's a busy weekend.. So I'm not sure what to expect. I want to say a card and flowers, but secretly I'll be really disappointed if it's nothing :-( dh is either on point.. Or.. Completely strikes out.. Guess we'll see!!

    DH is not the best about gifts and stuff because they just don't do them where he is from. But that being said he's been asking about when Mother's Day is so I am hoping for something. I don't really care what as long as I don't have to come up with it.

    My oldest kids will pick me out some flowers for my outside hanging baskets. MH will get me a few small things plus flowers from them all.

    Same every year. :)

    Usually I just sleep in in the morning. I'm not a big gift person, so I prefer that he doesn't get me anything.
