    This is my goddaughter's name.  Her parents pronounce it DAG-nee, but I believe the correct Scandinavian pronunciation would be DOG-nee.

    I'd say DAG-nee, but only out of ignorance.

    Unless the family was obviously and proudly Scandinavian (other kids named Aksel and Freja maybe), my first thought would be that the parents were hardcore Ayn Rand fans.
