GTKY: Nostalgia

Is there anything you're particularly nostalgic about that you can't wait to do with your LO?

I've always loved camping and my parents started taking me when I was a tiny baby.  I have so many fond memories of camping while growing up!  My husband and I have been talking about getting a small pop up camper for a couple years (we usually tent camp but is almost impossible now with 2 dogs) and I so want to bite the bullet and buy one, like NOW.  I can't wait to create those fun camping memories with my baby!

    I used to read The Sleep Book by Dr. Seuss with my dad before bed all of the time growing up. It's such a quirky fun book, and I have such fond memories of that book with my dad that I can't wait to make it a tradition with my kids as well. We would also always take bike rides on summer evenings - so I'm really looking forward to family bike rides. 

    I realize that it will still be years before either of these are possible!

    Our family loves to camp as well. I think the first time we went our daughter was 6 months. We went just a month ago and plan on going over Mother's Day weekend as well (my gift!) We always make sure to camp near a lake so we can fish as well. M is not old enough for a hook on her pole but she loves casting her line out with a little rubber weight on the end so it sinks. I can't wait until this baby is old enough to go!

    I couldn't wait to bake with DS and can't with this one either. I used to bake with my mom all the time.
    Also family trips to Knoebels (a wonderful amusement park).

    My dad loved to make up goofy songs about whatever we were doing when we were little. DH sometimes does the same thing, and I love to think about him doing that with our LO.

    I was just looking at the dingy looking glider sitting neglected in the corner that I usually pile my clothes on. I was thinking how many hours I spent rocking in that chair, cuddling and nursing both of my babies. And now I will get to do it all over again with this baby.
