What do you call the item of clothing under your pants/shorts/skirt?

For me, I call them underwear - for my nieces (and probably DD), they are undies. :-)

I call them underwear.

But, lately DH has been calling them my "small clothes". haha. Too much Game of Thrones for him!

I remember when my oldest niece started wearing them, my sister was like "Jilly, let's put on your panties" - and I was mortified...little girls don't wear panties! Thankfully she heard me out and goes with undies. LOL.

I say panties. I don't know if it's a regional thing, but everyone I know IRL says panties. I didn't even know the word bothered some people until I started posting on TB.

I hate panties, too. I had an old roommate who used the term unmentionables. I hated that, too.

I say underwear although I'm intrigued at the idea of calling DHs boxers panties lol

underwear, undies or "skivies". To me panties are more lingerie style fancy if that makes any sense.

I hate the word panties! And when my niece was in diapers my mom used to say "let's see what's in those panties" which was weird. I had to lay the smackdown when she said to DS "let's see what's in those panties." Ugh! It's a diaper and he's a boy!
