alternative to having a shower? my 2nd/1st with hubby

My husband and I have one child each. We are expecting our first together. My husband wants to have a shower or party but I have a lot of my son's old stuff. His got taken when he got divorced. I don't want to have a shower though and still want to find a way to celebrate before our child is born. Maybe a sprinkle or a diaper dinner? What do you all think?

Just have a regular party but don't say anything about gifts, diapers or even baby on the invite. Then have a special toast or cake to celebrate your new arrival.

Celebrate just the two of you! You've both already done the organized group celebration thing with your firsts, so why not just make this pregnancy a little more personal and intimate between the two of you?

I would just host a meet the baby party after baby is born. Having any kind of party beforehand will either come off gift grabby OR not baby related at all.
