Barricades...

How creative have we all gotten with keeping LO contained?

For a while we used the PnP in combo with the bouncy to block him in...then he learned to push them aside.  Now we currently use a fold up table turned on its side to keep him out of the dining room.  Our house is klassy!

  • We have the coffee table and a Sterilite bin from chair to chair in the living room. He's EVERYWHERE!

  • NOTHING CAN CONTAIN MY KID!!! lol.

I was using his bouncer to block the entrance of his room (keep him in while I could still watch) but he learned he could crawl under it.
Once he gets out from under it he HAULS ass! lol.

I just made  a big purchase on amazon of baby gates and a play yard (the hexagon things).

We don't contain. Our house is super open plan, so we just baby proofed and watch her. She goes in the pnp if I need a second and can't keep an eye on her.

That's my hope @revez for when she's on the move

    Edit:  Stairs will be gated

It works well for us. She's into EVERYTHING and gets super pissed if you try and keep her from exploring. She learned what "no" means really fast. It's pretty cute actually.

  • I'm hoping the "NO" will work well too @revez - or i'm just super naive.
  • Still not mobile (I feel like the last one!) but when she is, it will be PnP and baby gates

  • Our stairs are gated, that's it. He's currently being kept out of the dining room because there's some extra furniture (table, chairs, etc) we're trying to sell. Once that's gone it's game on.

We want to get a play yard for outside but I just can't swing it right now.

  • We have a baby gate blocking the hall to our bathroom and bedrooms.... But other than that just baby proofing and lots of "no" and distraction lol no stairs to worry about at least

  • right now, he goes in the jumper when we need to walk away. His play area is the entire living room floor with the foam mat. once the jumper is outgrown, which is pretty soon, the hexagon playyard goes up.

  • btw - his walker has become my best friend...  He can wheel around and explore but can't really get into stuff.  I gave him a cookie while he was in the walker the other day and he used it to "color" on my fridge.  lol.

  • We have a rectangular leather ottoman for our coffee table, so I usually push that sideways and block her in the living room. A play yard is sounding really good right about now though!

  • We put the coffee table infront of the fireplace. That is the only "barricade" we have. Other than that I just keep an eye on him, or put him in the PNP when I can't watch him. He pretty much hates being contained in the PNP though, so it really only works for short periods of time.

  • Our house is super old, 100+. We have these huge pocket doors from the living room to the foyer and to the dining room. When she's downstairs I usually have her in the living room. Once she gets mobile, I'll just close the doors to the dining room and get some more gates for the stairs. I can also close off the kitchen and that area if I need to. I figure I'll just play it by ear once she gets to moving about.

This is us too, except we block off a small area of the couch so that we can stash the 'no no's that need to stay out, my school stuff, diaper basket, etc.

Not sure if this pic will turn out well, but this is his holding pen. It's in the front room we never use. Otherwise it's his crib. Or if I'm in the shower I put him in the tub w pillows and toys. That will work till he tries to climb out or turns the water on.

  • He has the run of our apartment. I can close if the bedroom and bathroom and just let him at the living room and kitchen. I was thinking about a gate to keep him out of the kitchen but DH thinks it's unnecessary. I have a feeling our ottoman/ coffee table might be used for this soon.

Ha ha, @LEMSA, it took me a second to realize that you probably mean your tub and shower are separate.
