I created this post on the June mom's board because that's where I used to post the most but because I have been somewhat active here on the Preemie board I thought I should post it here too.     Sending many thoughts & prayers your way.  So glad that the procedure was a success and I hope you can get transferred back to the NICU closer to home - I've done the whole RMH stay and it's not easy.  
    Hoping this one stays put a little longer

    Thinking about your LO and glad the procedure went well!

    UIHC has amazing doctors, glad you had the best. Can I ask what original NICU you were at? I'm in Iowa too...

    We were at Saint Luke's in Cedar Rapids, I loved it there and hope we can get back there soon.

    Today was a really rough day though so I'm not sure what will happen now. They weaned him down on the ventilator and then decided he was ready to come off it and go to a Ram Cannula, but just a few minutes after getting him all switched over he desated so bad that he turned grey and stopped moving, all the nurses pushed me aside to bag him and rub him and bring him back. After that they tried a different nose ventilator but he still couldn't get enough air into his lungs and an x-ray showed that he had a partially collapsed right lung, so they bagged him some more and then decided he needed to be re intibated. So now he is back on the ventilator and letting it do all the work. I don't understand why this is happening at all. Before his surgery he was on no breathing support at all for the last month.

    Oh no! I'm sorry that happened :( Hopefully he gets back on track soon.

    Breathing was my LOs biggest struggle too. She came home on o2, but even in the NICU (Mercy in Des Moines), she really struggled. They always told us that if she was tired, stressed, etc that it would affect her breathing/sats, so maybe he's just worn out from surgery?
