Forgot about this little pregnancy perk...

Anybody else's leg hair pretty much stop growing? I'm usually a sasquatch by day 2 and now it's been almost a week. Soooo nice. Now as soon as my thick luxurious pregnancy head hair comes in I'll be all set....

  • Interesting, @MrsSparklebottom‌, this will be my 2nd boy and it happened last time as well!

  • @zoeygirl1105‌ , are you having a girl?

  • Or more likely my theory is backwards ;)

  • Wait what?! I never heard of this. I haven't shaved my legs in awhile but now I think I will have to tonight to see if there's been a difference in growth haha. The bikini area on the other hand.... I wish it would stop growing!

  • I'm having a girl and I haven't shaved in a week and I'm just getting some fresh stubble!! I had no idea this would happen but It's very welcome!

  • Last time it lasted until a few months postpartum for me, @wingardiumleviosa‌ ! Here's hoping! Ps, love your name.

I'm just backwards and strange, I guess. Oh well. Not the first time I've suspected this!

Apparently I'm right there with you, @MrsSparklebottom‌ !

  • I do not get this perk, apparently. :-(

    Me neither
    :((
  • This is baby number two, both boys, and my leg hair grows slower. My arm pits and lady bits grow faster though.

  • Yes!! I had never heard of this perk and was so confused the first few months. I usually have a 5o'clock shadow with my leg hair, it never was smooth. Now I got 4-5 days with no stubble. Lovin it. Although I have started getting a very fuzzy stomach and that's not okay, it's blonde everywhere but above and below my belly button where it's pretty dark. I'm hoping it falls out like other posts have mentioned!!

  • I was just thinking this! Usually I have to shave my legs every other day but I'm now on day three and what little stubble is there is super soft. I am having a boy so maybe has something to do with it
  • I didn't realize this was a pregnancy thing. I shaved a week ago and there is barely anything. I don't know what I'm having yet though so no idea if it is related to the sex.

  • Yes, but my armpit hair still grows at the same rate, which I find weird.

My favorite pregnancy perk is that oddly, the hair on my head never looks dirty.  I have no idea how this happens.  LIke, I can probably go a whole week without washing it (I don't, but I can stretch it 3-4 days whereas when non pregnant I'm an every-day or every-other-day washer).  IT is amazing.

I've noticed this the last month or so. I haven't had the perk of leg hair growing slower, but it would kind of make me feel like it was evening out if it was.

I haven't noticed any changes. But my leg hairs are almost invisible so I don't shave as regularly as I would if they showed up.

Ugh, trapped in the quote box. This is me too. My leg hair is growing as normal but since it is very blond and light it isn't really that noticeable.

  • I forgot about this until you mentioned it.  I think mine has slowed down quite a bit, but I didn't realize because I'm lazy and only shave once a week anyway.  I remember it didn't pick back up for quite awhile after DD was born, too.  Definitely a perk.
  • I'm having a girl and I was surprised I could wear my awesome maternity shorts for nearly a week without shaving! Seriously awesome!

I either didn't have this perk while pregnant with DS or I didn't notice because I was pregnant in the winter. ;)

I noticed that too, but thought maybe I was just making it up, lol.

I mean seriously - it grows like crazy everywhere ELSE! I would almost rather it grow on my legs...that's a little easier to manage on a regular basis than some other spots.  :-S

  • I dont think any hair growth anywhere has stopped. All my hair is dark. Even the hair that use to be light is darker. My hair hasnt changed at all..looks worse than it did pre pregnancy.

Glad the rest of you have noticed it slowing though
  • I wish! I'm the opposite right now. I will shave and I feel like Sasquatch again right after I get out of the shower.

Um, this. I'm having a hard time keeping up with my grooming routine. On the plus side, I have a pretty rad 'stache and hipster beard.

  • WHOA! I didnt even think about that but yeah!! I cant remember shaving much this week and I hardly got nuthin. Woot woot!
Can't remember shaving much?? I'm lucky if I shave once a week!! I don't have much hair anywhere though. I have more now, just like with DS. I did lose LOTS of hair after having DS. It was like I waxed my legs! Weird!
  • Definitely with you on the leg front, but I'm still waiting for the thick, beautiful pregnancy hair.  If I don't gain any and still lose it postpartum I'll be bald!
  • This definitely happened for me with my first two (both girls), and I've just now noticed it starting to slow down as well. Pumped, just in time for capri season.

This for me as well.  I can go longer without washing and it still looks nice!  In fact, I am getting more compliments on it the longer I go.  Crazy!

I'm gonna test the leg hair thing.  I think mine has slowed but I shaved this a.m. so I will start really paying attention.  If so, this is an awesome perk!

  • Why don't I have this amazing perk? I'm like a ape over here, my stomach is covered in fine black hairs and nowhere else has slowed down either. So sad...really.
Now with clothes on I feel awesome! This is some weird confidence perk for me because I've never been confident with my body with or without clothing.
  • Shaved last night and I'm still fairly smooth! How did I not notice this before?! Definitely a nice perk for a summer pregnancy =)

  • Oh man! I didn't even notice until I read this... How amazing is this no shaving bit!
  • I've noticed that my hair growth pattern is backwards since getting pregnant.

My leg hairs normally grow insanely fast while my arm pit hair grows slow. Since getting pregnant its the complete opposite. My leg hairs grow so slowly but OMG it seems like I am shaving my arm pits every single day now.
