Intro & looking for May 2014 cycle buddies

I am new to this group and looking forward to connecting with others here.

Here's my story..

I met a great man at 38, got married and started trying, we did 4 IVFs that didnt work.  We finally got pregnant naturally when I was 40 after I had been in hospital for a month (its a bit of a long story) but I underwent surgery and was on drugs during my early pregnancy unknowingly, so it was a miracle baby in many ways.  I gave birth in November 2013 to a very healthy baby girl and made the difficult decision to give up breastfeeding early to try for a sibling.  I am rushing to try again because I am 42, it took us 2 years to get pregnant with our first, and that was very lucky, so I know I need all the chances I can get. 

I am meant to start a new cycle May 5th roughly.  Is there a May 2014 cycle group? 

Facing IVF again.. I am a bit out of practice, kind of daunted to be going back into it, and hate to say it but am afraid of the shots.. :(  Trying to stay hopeful and have taken on a health regime to help my chances.  In the past I did acupuncture, chinese herbs and a whole lot of things, but I think I will just take it easy this time and try to do just be healthy and do as much relaxation as possible.

    Good luck with relaxation!!!  Welcome to the board.  I understand the hard decision to wean for the sake of a sibling.  I struggled with it for a while before eventually weaning at 15 mos, I'm sure it must have been harder to wean much earlier as you did.  Good luck.

    Two failed clomid cycles (made lining too thin)
    Started acupuncture while saving for IVF in Sept 2011
    Add herbal infusions to the mix in Dec 2011
    Hoping holistic approach works!!!

    Meepy Man born on Jan 2013 - Hip Hip Hurray!

    Ready to start ttc #2 April 2013, but plan to be an extended BF'er
    Back on metformin Aug 2013
    Restart herbal infusions Sept 2013 - currently drinking nettle, oatstraw, and red raspberry leaf
    DS weaned in April 2014
    Taking a break from herbs and just riding the healthy train.  
    Planning medicated cycle end of summer.  FX I get KU before then!!!

    Welcome to the board. Hope you don't have to stay here too long! How did you like accupuncture? I've been going back and forth on getting it.

    Thank you both!  Its an unfortunate truth that this is a board no one wants to be on for too long!  But its great to have the community.

    I really liked accupuncture and I think it did help with my relaxation.   I do think pursuing acupuncture and relaxation techniques is a very good thing.   There has been a lot written about the mind-body connection with fertility.  The key is the relaxation.  If acupuncture can relax you, than it is worth doing.  If it stresses you out, I think skip it and try meditation or yoga.  There is evidence however that accupuncture can help if done before and after transfer (by about 12 hours).  but again, this should be if it already relaxes you, not if its stressful.

    Welcome! I hope your cycle goes perfectly.

    I am not doing IVF...IUI's here, but I am waiting for AF...hoping she will be here by the 1st. So I will be trying this month with ya.

    welcome! hoping you stay here is short. i have been contemplating accupuncture too but am seriously stalling because needles scare the shit out of me. i hear it doesn't hurt at all but then DH told me he did it once and lady put the needle in some nerve on his ankle bone and it was the worst pain ever. thanks DH. asshat. i can't forget that story.

    BFP #3 5/30/13.  EDD 2/8/14...  6wk u/s HB 126. 8wk u/s lost HB. D&C 7/12/13.
    BFP #4 2/18/14.  EDD 10/30/14... Ruptured ectopic with L tube removed & D&C 3/7/14.
    BFP #5 7/27/14.  EDD 4/9/15...  m/c @ 5w4d.

    IVF #1    Oct 2014 - antagonist protocol: 9R, 7M, 5F. 3dt of 3 Grade 2 embies. BFN. 
    IVF #2    Jan 2015 cancelled due to dominant follicle.  Converted to IUI #1. BFFN
    IVF #2.1 March 2015 cancelled due to dominant follicle.

    BFP #6  (SUPRISE!) 3/19/15.  EDD 11/30/15...  CP at 4w2d.
    IUI #2:    Clomid + Follistim = 3 follies. BFN.
    IVF #2.2 May 2015 - horrible response to micro lupron flare protocol: 3R, 3M, 3F. 3dt of 2 Grade 3 embies. BFFN. 

    BFP #7 (beyond surprised again!) 4/26/16. EDD 1/5/17. beautiful betas!!!! and then near-fatal hemorrhagic corpus luteum. turns out baby was ectopic after all; another lap 5/6 (@24dpo).

    the universe can fuck off.
