Saw the heartbeat!

At six weeks my regular OB saw the gestational sac but no yolk. Went to fetal sonography specialist today at 7 weeks and 1 day and we saw the little heart in there just fluttering away (139 bpm). It was such a relief! Of course, because of my age (41) there are now a zillion other things to worry about, but right at this moment I am focusing on that little flutter :)

So exciting and must have made you feel so relieved!  I am FTM (to be) and currently around 6 weeks.  Two weeks until we go for the ultrasound to see the heartbeat.  I also had an ultrasound at 5W (they thought I was 6w based on the my last period) but ultrasound showed I was closer to 5w and just saw the sac with no egg.

    Best of luck to you!!

Great news. I know that sense of relief. There will always be something we can find to worry about but it becomes less as time goes on :)

Congratulations, I know what you  mean. I just saw that same little flutter this week for my first ultra sound. I am 9 weeks and also this is my first at 40 years old. I understand all of your other concerns, but I am simply doing the same as you and thinking about the flutter :)

Thanks for the love, everyone! It has been a good week. There are so many things to worry about, but I am trying to just take it a day at a time. Believe me, this is a HUGE feat for me. I am a professional worrier! Your well wishes mean so much!!
