I just had a meeting with my TA, whom I really don't like, and realized when she walked out of my office that I had a document up on my monitor (facing her, about 5 feet away) that summarized my entire infertility history in one page (wrote it for the new doc, and was looking back at it this AM). She's got good eyesight and is pretty nosy, so I'd say there's about a 90% chance she read it. She's not an especially trustworthy person, and she's about to be very mad at me because I didn't recommend her for independent teaching next year, which she'll find out later today.

Oh geez that's a tough one. If she's anxiously waiting to find out about independent teaching it's entirely possible that she didn't read the screen because she was absorbed in her own business. If she did read it, you can't change that now, just wait and No matter what just remain professional. If she did read that it was none of her damn business, and if anyone says anything about it that's exactly what I'd say--"I'm so disappointed that Nancy would be so nosy &unprofessional as to violate my right to privacy with my medical history" frankly I think that shows what kind of person she is and that she's too immature to deserve the independent teaching!!

I'd say there is nothing to do now. Hopefully she didn't read it and if she did I don't see how disclosing such info to anyone would be a great topic of conversation. Specially if she has to say she was reading your personal documents if someone ask how does she know.

With any luck she wasn't paying that much attention. I hate nosey people. I had one like that at my last job. She'd always wonder around trying to see what everyone else was doing. Good luck! I hope she surprises you and keeps it to herself if she did see.
I think I would leave it alone. Even if she did see it, who would have any respect for her at all for spreading your medical information around. If someone tried to gossip with me about a colleague regarding such a personal and painful topic, I would be sure to put them in their place, and have no respect for them!
One of my coworkers walked into the clinic this morning while I was waiting to be seen. She is a customer service manager and not someone I deal with often but we know each other. Okay so that wasnt so bad, she saw me there and I saw her there means we are all even, right? Well her entire family works for our company, with her mother being someone we all call the "daily news" because if it happened, she will know about it and tells anyone willing to listen to her talk.
Im just waiting for the random comments from people about my cycling... God help me now.

This is one of my biggest fears! I know that it puts you both on even playing fields, but who knows if she has told people, or doesn't feel it is private. I have had people around me who feel it is their business even when I say it isn't. I live in a state that is really just one big small town, so if anyone sees you out, its easy for everyone to know.

I'm always worried about my google search bar. I'm pretty sure some of the colleagues have seen weird things there.
I hope she didn't notice or at least has the common sense to shut her trap.
