moby wrap .... not so thrilling

so I got to the moby wrap as a gift and was so excited because it's cute and had great reviews.... but I HATE it! I have been practicing with stuffed animals and it's so cumbersome and feels loose no matter how I put it . I watched vids too. does anyone else have issues with it or is it just me. I'm trying to think of other ways to use it and so far I've got nothing. anyone have any ideas? id return it but I didn't get a gift receipt and it was purchased online and I know the person who got it wouldn't have the papers for it so it's mine for good . I feel bad because they aren't that cheap!

I personally loved my Moby for DD early on. It definitely has a little -learning curve-, and stuffed animals in a moby wrap while pregnant may not be quite the same as a baby in it when you're not pregnant.

I'd say just keep trying, and when LO gets here seriously tie that sucker as tight as you can get it. That's what I found out I had to start doing.

But, if you really think you won't like it, then maybe trying to return it and trying some others on before getting another might be worth it?

true being 9 mos preg strapping a fake baby on me isn't ideal lol I will try again with the real thing once he gets here but I did just go to a consignment and found a sling I love for only ten bucks so that will do if moby doesn't

I had the Moby for DS, but I wasn't a fan either, for the same reasons. It just never felt secure to me. I recently got a Sakura Bloom ring sling for DD that I love! I know it's way different price points, but it's good until the toddler years, it's way easier to put on, and it feels much for secure.

I'd keep it to try for real with your baby. If you still aren't a fan, there is a good re-sale market for them, especially if they are "brand new".

I tried my K'tan with a stuffed bear recently and that didn't go well either. Without anything in it, it looks like it fits properly but the belly gets in the way and the bear isn't really the right shape or weight.

I'd say hold off until the baby is here and give it another shot before deciding whether to give it up or not.

I wouldn't have been able to survive without my Moby. DS loved it and basically lived in that thing for 4 months.

Give it another try when baby is here.

I knew Id hate the Moby, which is why I went for the K'Tan. But yeah, try it when baby gets here and you may change your mind.

I would suggest try with baby like pp said

Is there a baby wearing group in your town? Many groups have lending libraries and you can try out different ones to find the one you like. Or even stores do too. Also people sell them on the groups, so you can find one for a good price. I just picked up a moby today for a really good price.

Wait til baby is here before saying you hate it. I loved it for the newborn stage with DD. It did take a few times to get the hang of it, but once I did, DD always felt nice and secure against me.

Trying it now while very pregnant is not going to give you an accurate idea on fit.

I had one with DS and when I could actually get it tied correctly it was great but I think I can count the number of times that happened on one hand. I ended up getting an ergo with a newborn insert and loved it. That's what I'm using this time.

I loved my diy moby wrap for DD. It wasn't introduced to me til she was several months old so I have no experience w a newborn but I'm super excited to wear this LO everywhere! I was still wearing my daughter at 1 1/2 yrs old...

I had a rep from a maturnity store show me how it works. It's easier now but I have not tried with a baby yet and my belly is too big for comfortable fit. If you YouTube it they show how to best put it on. I hope I use mine.
