? for anyone who has read the Outlander series.

I just started the second book, and am freaking out a little bit. Does the second book have Jamie in it? I read somewhere that the books can be read independently and I am already wanting to skip this one. I have heard the 3rd book is awesome. So, can someone please give me a reason not to skip the second book?

  • Don't skip any of the books.  Some are slower than others, but there are things written in the 7th book that can be referenced back to the first few books.  I don't know if I could read them independently.

Thank you. I'm just having a hard time not reading from Claires point of view.
  • I wouldn't skip any of them, they all lend to the story. And Jamie's in all of them.

It's been a while since I've read them, but I would not skip.  I do remember that there were 1 or 2 that didn't hold my attention as well, but I don't really see them as stand alone books.
