I have decided we eat way to much processed food. I already cut out all of the juice/candy/fruit snacks. My next step is to cut out the processes snacks. So if you follow a clean eating diet what do you eat for snacks? My kids snack all day long, I just want to be prepared with enough before I throw out all of the processed stuff. And yes, I need to throw all of it out, if it is even an option it will be a fight every time they want something to eat.
We do lots of trail mix which I mix myself. Usually almonds, pumpkin seeds, pecans, raisins, cranberries and choc chips. Also fruit and carrots and cheese. I'm not sure what you're considering processed. We do still have crackers and similar processed stuff but I try to do no more than once a day.
I was going to look for some whole grain crackers. My kids are addicted to goldfish and cheeze-its, that is the stuff I really want to get away from. I know its impossible to avoid it all, but if I at least keep most of it out of the house it will help. Homemade trail mix is a good idea.
String cheese, berries, apples, celery and peanut butter, nuts, carrots. DS likes to help make yam fries. When it's hot we make smoothies from yogurt and frozen fruit. Dried fruit, like cranberries and mango.
dried figs too! lots of fiber, potassium, iron, & even calcium. so much easier than fresh ones that don't last long in the fridge. they're so sweet that they taste like candy (or the obvious, a fig newton lol) but there's no added sugar. even DH is addicted.

I don't think I've ever had a dried fig. I have fig trees in my yard, and they kind of ripen all at once so I think about them for month and the BAM! Time for a fig eating binge!
Figs are really good in a smoothie with yogurt, coconut milk, and frozen pineapple.

I'm ready for summer.
We eat a lot of air-popped popcorn (I have an air popper) and I roll bananas in ground flaxseed and unsweetened coconut. YUM!!!
