We just found out yesterday that my son has a peanut allergy. Does anybody have experience with this? I know that it's pretty common these days, but this is something new to me. Nobody in my family (or my husband's) has food allergies. Any tips, advice, info, etc. would be great. Thanks!
Re: Peanut Butter allergy
Once her mom was watching the kids and had trail mix or something, she picked the peanuts out and gave the rest to her daughter. Thankfully she arrived to pick them up a few minutes later. Her mom didn't get why her granddaughter had a huge swollen red face. Even now she doesn't understand that anything that comes into contact with peanuts is harmful.
So make sure you're diligent and really explain it to family members.
Oh she also got a reaction from her cousin. The cousin had peanut butter on toast for breakfast and had some oils on her hands. They looked perfectly clean.
