This is the weekly June '14 PgAL check-in. This is a place for anyone due June 2014 that has suffered a previous pregnancy loss. PgAL is an exciting but scary place so please feel free to share your thoughts, concerns, milestones and vents. Mostly, this check-in is to remind all of us that we are not alone in the journey and to offer support along the way. Check-in is every Saturday.

How far along are you? 35w5d

Team / Name? (Kelsey Marie)

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? The first time around, I got a more of a toddler rocker that DD#1 could grow into and use and never got a bouncer. This time around, I found two bouncers real cheap so I have one upstairs and downstairs for when I'm busy with DD#1.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically, I keep feeling like she has dropped and can barely walk and then she'll move back up an hour or so later. I heard that it is pretty common for a second baby to float more and not really engage until later. DD#1 had dropped by now. Emotionally, I'm starting to feel guilty on how DD#1s world is going to change.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Had an u/s this past week and they found extra fluid on one of her kidneys where it meets the ureter. My fluid levels look find and her kidney doesn't look enlarged so they've told me that its nothing to worry about but I've earned an extra u/s in another week. It's def. hard not to worry.

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? I'm worried how I'll be able to balance my love and time between two. DH isn't home to help 4 nights a week so I really need to figure out how to still make DD#1 feel special.

Any baby awesomeness this week? I love being able to distinguish body parts that are poking and proding me.

QOTW – What is your newborn photo style? We've always had a photographer come to our house to take pictures. We don't use alot of props so it is alot of natural photos. I do love the ones with all the props though.

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? Mamaroo bouncer. I contemplated it for a long time, but then received a bouncer/swing combo and will try that out instead.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Still rib pain- that sucks @kimmyberly26‌

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Normal bi-weekly appointment this week on the 1st (can't believe it's May already!)

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? I really am 100% committed to BFing and I'm hoping my body and baby have the same plan.

Any baby awesomeness this week? I think I'm able to distinguish body parts as well and can feel babe's butt at the top of my stomach.

QOTW – What is your newborn photo style? I like the props idea. For my nephew (who was born in Feb), I took his pictures and used an Easter basket for the prop along with plastic eggs- it was really cute!!

@kimmyberly26‌ - being an older sister myself, I remember having little jobs to help out. Even when I was only 2! My mom nursed my siblings and I had a doll that I would pretend to BF while she was feeding them. With my sister I was older and able to help out more. I would just try to make her role as big sister feel very important

Team / Name? Team boy! Might have a name, but won't fully decide until we meet him!

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? The RNP, DS1 didn't like it so we won't do it this time either.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Feeling like the little boy is heavier than my last, I seriously feel like I have a bowling ball in there. The weight makes it hard to maneuver from side to side in bed and it pulls on my spine. Oh fun times:) but I am so more than happy to endure the "un"comforts of it all!

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? May 7th and my OB wants to check my cervix then- eek that means it's getting extremely close...

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? @kimmyberly26 I agree with the body part distinguishing, love it! This morning he had a knee running up and down the middle of my stomach for a while, oh how I will miss these movements after giving birth!

Team / Name? Blue...maybe Ryan or Christopher..not sure. Maybe he will pop out and look like neither...then we will be screwed!

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? I didn't get a swing. I wasn't originally on board for a vibrating chair but was convinced it was great. So we will see.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically-tired. Carpal tunnel is no fun. Plus a sinus/allergy thing happening now which makes things difficult. Breathing is important! Emotionally..I am good. Can't believe its 5 weeks away!

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I have weekly appts...this week coming up is a big one. I meet the surgeon, have another fetal echo, regular growth ultrasound and ob appt. Big day!

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? Still scared of labor...not sure what to expect!

Any baby awesomeness this week? He continues to be awesome. I love feeling him in there.

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? I turned down a new pack and play since we already have one that we used for our son.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Tired on both fronts.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Ugh I have two appointments next week. Tuesday is growth scan early because I refused all previous screenings based solely on age. Expecting a woman's child to automatically have problems with no evidence of such because she is over 35 is not called science it's called stupidity.
The one on Friday is my doc doing another sugar test for her own piece of mind. I love this lady.

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? I am right back at being terrified of both a repeat section and a vbac. I really wish there was a third option that includes magic.

Any baby awesomeness this week? This little girl is definitely my kid because she's already showing an independent spirit.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Pretty good emotional, at the moment. Still incredibly uncomfortable but that is to be expected.

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? I'm wondering if I made the right decision by getting the Momaroo. I was psyched to try it and then read some pretty negative reviews. Uh oh..

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically, my hips, back and pelvic bones are KILLING me! Heartburn isn't as bad but when it does hit, oh my. Emotionally, I'm not bad with PgAL brain, it's that today is the week/day count of my last pregnancy when I started preterm labor so I'm a mess worrying it's going to happen again and also thinking about how badly everything went, which is causing me to get scared about giving birth again.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Had my first NST this past week; it went really well. This week, I have my 34 week appointment, another NST and my progesterone shot (only 3 left!!!!)

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? No different that what I described about my emotional stuff.

Any baby awesomeness this week? Lots of movements, love watching him move under my shirt, the usual stuff.

QOTW – What is your newborn photo style? Don't know if I really have one. For my sons, we had black and white pictures done in their diapers but I don't know if that's my "style." I'm going to repeat it with this baby so that my wall of newborn pictures match (I'm corny like that, I know).

@kimmyberly26‌ sorry I think I forgot to update in this thread last week.

Henry is doing great!! He is 4 lbs 8 oz and growing like a weed every day!! He's getting 40 ml every 3 hrs. They stopped giving him the sodium supplement. They are watching his belly button cuz he may have a little hernia there, it's small right now but if it gets larger they may have to surgically fix it when he's a little bigger. Also they are adding a thyroid check to his blood work on Tues cuz he came back abnormal twice on his blood work that gets sent to the state. He may be hypothyroid but he can get a supplement to help and he will most likely grow out of it. I guess it's common in preemies to be hypothyroid cuz they aren't fully developed yet.

I'm doing well. I've had a drop in my milk supply but the nurses said that's common around 5-6 weeks postpartum. I'm still working on pumping as often as I can and trying every tip that I'm given. I've even found a beer that I like!!! My DH was shocked cuz I hate beer! And I'm finally feeling like myself again as far as energy goes, so I've been doing things around the house and working on Henry's room!

How far along are you? 33 weeks

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? Hum, maybe a rock n play? We'll be using an arm's reach co-sleeper for night and a pack n play for daytime naps so I don't see us getting one (we didn't have one for DS)

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physcially I'm feeling 33 weeks pregnant :-). Emotionally pretty ok. I've been moody lately and sort of have this "can the baby just get here already" feeling. It's like I have senioritis.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? My 33 week appointment was last week. It went OK I guess. My BP was a bit elevated. And because of my history of PreE I promptly freaked out. But there was no protein, and no swelling, and as my MW kept telling me, my BP was "mildly elevated" not "high". My MW was entirely unconcerned, so I know I should be too, but I can't help but feel that this is the beginning of the end. She gave me some suggestions (ie. lots of water, cut back on salt, don't eat or drink coffee an hour before my next appointment) so hopefully this will help and my BP will be nice and normal next appointment.

Any baby awesomeness this week? Just completed a Target baby registry (mostly for the completion discount) and got a really nice goody bag full of freebies! I was thoroughly impressed, when I registered with DS the goody bad had next to nothing in it!

QOTW – What is your newborn photo style? Um, I don't have one? We won't be doing professional baby pictures, just taking our own. We have done professional pictures each year at Christmas since DS was born, so that will be the baby's first professional photo shoot.

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? I'm trying to keep everything at a minimum as far as baby gear but it's hard! I'm already running out of space and we haven't had the shower yet!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I've been feeling pretty good. There are points in some days when it's more difficult to walk around, but it goes away quickly usually. Bending over is getting more painful too.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Regular check up this Tuesday. Hopefully nothing eventful.

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? If she moves too much it worries me, if she moves too little it worries me. I'm starting to question all movement! But everything seems normal besides my crazy brain.

@kimmyberly26- Prayers that the extra fluid resolves itself! My baby shower is May 10th... so 2 more weeks! My MIL wants to throw a small one for my DH's side of the family but they want to do it on a Sunday... 2 hours away from my house... and 1.5 hrs from my hospital, on June 1st. I told her I would have to ask my dr, but I guess she didn't get the hint and they're already making invitations. So. Much. Drama. Ugh. I couldn't care less about them throwing one or not, but they've turned it into a big deal because they can't make the one on the 10th because my SIL didn't tell us about our niece's 1st birthday party. Dumb. Oh well...

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? I didn't want or register for a bedding set

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Emotionally awful, but it has more to do with dealing with our situation than the baby (she's pretty great). Physically, a lot more sore and I've stopped wearing my rings because they started to get tight and I don't want them to get stuck.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Nothing until the 8th.

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? Just afraid that she's going to come early and we still won't be in our house or we still won't be in the house by June.

Any baby awesomeness this week? So much movement on the outside when she's active! My belly looks like a scene from Alien, lol!

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? I didn't think we'd need a Rock N Play so we didn't register for one. But....we ended up getting it at our family shower. My cousins who gave it to us swore by it so I decided to keep it and see for myself.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically feeling ok. If I forget to take my pepcid though I'm puking. Emotionally I'm starting to get a little freaked out.... 3rd tri is flying by....I can't believe I only have 8 weeks to go!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Exhausted by the end of the day, but trying to enjoy every moment I can. Still have moments of panic that something is wrong.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I am liking my weekly appts. It feels good to know she is being monitored closely.

I am trying to really enjoy every second with Lulu, before Viviana gets here. H has been super busy with school, which is making me more and more nervous about what life is going to be like with 2 and him being gone a lot. He is taking easy classes this summer, so that will help, but come fall I know it will be right back to his being gone a lot. I'm sure we'll figure out a new normal with Lucia, but I just want to cuddle her all the time right now to make sure she's getting enough love.

Team / Name? Pink/Viviana Mae (Thanks @Kimmyberly26 - we had a hard time with a middle name for this one. Lucia's middle name is Kathleen, after my mother who passed away 9 years ago, so it was hard to let go of the search for something as meaningful, which obviously doesn't exist).

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? We didn't use a swing for Lucia and don't plan on getting one this time either. The little vibrating chair worked perfectly. Along the same lines we won't use a RnP. We also probably won't buy the carseat attachment for our stroller this time. We bought it last time, and then Lucia much preferred to lay flat in the stroller, and didn't want to be in the carseat any more than was necessary. We'll see what Viv likes before we buy one for the double stroller.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I've had a headache for 8 days now, which is making life difficult. Other than that I feel fine physically. Emotionally I've been having a good week as far as PGAL goes, but the headache is really getting me down.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? May 6th is my next appointment. It's been awhile, so I'm ready for it to get here. I'm anxious to see if she's moved from breech.

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? My big fear right now it finding out she's still breech and having to figure out what we will do about that.

Any baby awesomeness this week? I've got a huge lump that moves around my stomach, but I don't know how to tell if it's head or butt. She does make my stomach move around like crazy, which I love! H watched with me the other day, and was talking to her. I love when he gets into it with me.

QOTW – What is your newborn photo style? We've never had professional photos. So I like whatever I can figure out how to do at home

On my first BMB we started a photo contest a little while after they were born. The winner each time would choose the next pose/theme/idea, and then everyone would try and take it themselves. It really helped get some cute pictures.

Hello ladies! Hoping everyone has a smooth 1-2 months as we near the end, I can't believe it's almost here already! 32w3d today, team pink, Camryn~~~~gear: no need for a wipe warmer, diaper pail, baby tub (just using the little sponge insert for sink until baby is big enough to sit up on her own). ~~~~ great appointment with U/s this week. She is measuring 4lbs 2oz, right on track and got to see her adorable little face. She's got quite the honker on her!

My little niece had the same nose at birth and it looks like she has dh's beautiful lips. I shared a picture below. And my BP was actually low, 90/58. Starting weekly NSTs next week. ~~~~ physically pretty much the same, though today I felt crampy so been lying down a lot. All we did was reorganize the kitchen earlier today, which is odd that would set me off since I danced a lot at a wedding last night and tolerated kickboxing a few days ago. Emotionally depends on the situation, about my pregnancy great, excited. DH finds me really sexy this way so most of the time I feel beautiful and strong. Last night got all dolled up for a wedding, looking forward to using that for my hdb pic this week

. Downside, my 18 year old niece announced she is expecting. She is very immature and irresponsible, and changes boyfriends like she changes her socks. so the new BF that she is saying is the father doesn't line up with her dates, so she really doesn't even know who the father is regardless of what she is telling people. The girl has the maturity level of a 14 year old and isn't fit to be a mother. She messaged me a few nights ago asking me my due date, but was really fishing for a congrats which I cannot deliver. I refuse to lie to her and blow sunshine up her ass like most people because I'm deeply concerned about how hard life is going to be now for her and this child. So trying to stick to if I can't say anything nice I won't say anything at all. I'm hoping she doesn't think this is something we can bond over, because what she really needs is tough love and a good role model but I know she won't be receptive to it. (If she would be I would be there) Plus I'm struggling with why girls like her, so unprepared for parenthood, can get KU at the drop of a hat when it takes so much for other people who would make amazing parents, not to mention endure loss after loss. I'm just thankful this didn't happen while we were struggling to get Pregnant and dealing with our loss, because I would be totally having a meltdown! ( Sorry to write a novel about this!)~~~~ lots of baby awesomeness this week, super active and knowing that she is head down I know what part is which, so that is fun! ~~~~~. How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I have this headache that will not go away. Going on a week and a half now. Thinking it has to do with my slightly elevated BP that I had on Friday.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Last week's ultrasound was good. No more SCH!! The downside is my BP was slightly elevated. I have to follow up today and see what it's running. Then I have my next regular OB appointment next week.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically pretty good. Sore hips and belly getting big. Other than that pretty good. Emotionally- starting to nest. I want things done and in order.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Just did our hospital tour today. Normal appt. Thursday. Baby Sprinkle on May 4th and Maternity photos on May 17th. Phew! A lot going on this month.

Is there popular gear that you decided you didn’t need? FTM, so I have no clue what i do/do not need yet. My registry is full of practical, space saving items.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically - water retention has caught up with me so I have 24 hour cankles. I will admit I have ugly cried over the appearance of my feet. Still have the BP issues and my hips ... GEEZ they hurt! Emotionally - Coming to turns with being in labor and being a Mom is scaring me.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Weekly appointment on wednesday.

Any PgAL crazy/labor fears/parenting fear you want to add? Scared of labor and how my body will handle it. Also, I didn't have the greatest mother figure growing up so raising my child is scaring me BIG TIME. I have no clue what I am doing

Any baby awesomeness this week? She moves around all the time. Not crazy hard kicks anymore ... just rolling around. I always thought I would hate the feeling of something moving in there but I have come to love it and sad it will end in June

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically lots of BH - emtionally it depends on the day

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? BP is starting to go up but still considered normal so that's a big plus. Had more BW yesterday waiting on that to see how my platelet count is -- last week it went down just a point so hopefully not a big change this week.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally?

Physically pretty good, tired and a bit of swelling lately. Emotionally this week has been a very sad one. I posted a thoughts and prayers thread for my old friend Christine who lost on of her twin four year old boys very suddenly last saturday due to complication from a fatal athsma attack. Having my own four year old son has made this loss hit very close to home
