Lopsided Bump

I thought I'd throw this one out there since I haven't seen it discussed yet:

It's probably only noticeable to me, but I think the left side of my belly sticks out a little more than the right. I also notice my back is generally sorer on that side and I can't bend to the side as well in that direction anymore. I think this kid is pushing everything over to my left!

Re: Lopsided Bump

  • I have the exact same issue, except mines my right side. It seems to be getting better, but it was pretty noticeable for a few weeks.

  • Yes!  I am super lopsided on the left!  It's also the only side I have been feeling kicks on so far.  I actually took this picture a couple weeks ago and you can totally tell.  I wish my hand wasn't in the way.

  • I'm too the right usually
  • I never noticed with my first pregnancy, but I have noticed it this time. I'm assuming once everything gets a bit bigger, it will all even out.
  • With DS, my OB said that it's normal to be lopsided in the beginning because your colon displaces your uterus somewhat.  As your uterus gets larger, it usually becomes centralized again   :)

  • My uterus tilts to the left... enough that my OB commented about it while doing a trans vaginal U/S. My bump is also lop-sided to the left. My OB  also said as the baby gets bigger, it'll have no choice but to even out and fill every possible space in that area.

  • What's great is when baby is bigger- you have this adorable round bump- then baby moves and you have a giant cone on one side, then they move again and you have a squarish bump. Lol. That always cracked me up. Right now uneven is pretty normal just because of where all the organs are moving to, baby has some impact on it, but obviously not tons right now because of it's size.

  • I noticed it more when I was like, 10-11 weeks. Meaning, when I was still skinny enough to see hipbones, so then, I'd see that it was way over to the left. Now I just feel fat. :\
