Today: stuffed sweet sausage peppers
Tues: chicken stuffed with boursin cheese and red pepper
Wed: hot dogs and mac n cheese
Thurs: hamburger gravy with noodles, mushrooms and onions
Fri: some sort of fish
Those won't last til Wednesday lol so,
Tuesday: tacos. I'm going to make chicken, beef and shrimp then cut up a bunch of toppings so that we can have any kind we want.
Friday: I'm just gonna make spaghetti for the kids cuz DW and I are going out.
Yesterday I made buffalo chicken BBQ and sweet and sour turkey meatballs, so...
Today: leftovers (DS gets the meatballs)
Tuesday: spinach and artichoke chicken over either rice or pasta (only because I need to use the spinach and I have an open jar of artichoke hearts)
Wednesday: BBQ leftovers
Thursday: BBQ leftovers again hopefully
Friday: pasta
Saturday: pizza?
I'm lazy.
Monday: crock pot pork chops with mashed potatoes and a veggie
Tuesday: baked chicken, pasta and a veggie
Wednesday: smoked sausage with Mac & cheese
Thursday-Saturday: I work late, so DH and DD eat leftovers or go to MIL's to eat.
I used to plan (years ago when I lived alone), but it's taken me years to get DH to point of 1) thinking about food more than a few hours ahead of time and 2) eating leftovers.
So now we've arrived at the point of making a big dinner Sunday night, and having it last through Tuesday or Wednesday, but we don't plan the rest of the week. It's currently just the two of us, and I don't see our style changing that much with a newborn, since they font eat "food" for a while.
So basically I'm just impressed/jealous that yall ladies are able to plan ahead and stick to it, but I'm really curious - was this something you always did or did it come with the family expansion?
I didn't start meal planning until we had DS. Before becoming parents it was like, we'll figure something out. Now I meal plan to avoid multiple grocery store trips in a week and to make sure DS has a healthy and balanced diet.
I have meal planned since we got married. We used to eat out more often before DD was born, but now that she is old enough to eat food, I try to figure something out to make. DH will still not eat leftovers so for now I make something new each night.

And FTR: my meal "plan" for the week:
Sunday through Tuesday: chicken with tomato/veggie curry and Cous-Cous
Wednesday - free dinner via work (yay!)
Thursday - DHs parrents arrive for weekend visit (no clue)
Friday - homemade pizza (ok this one is also cheating because the four of us are taking a cooking class

I used to meal plan a little bit the year before I got married because I was doing Weight Watchers. That stopped maybe a year after I got married. I started it again last summer because DS was eating more table foods and I wanted us to do healthy family dinners. It fell apart when I got pregnant and wasn't feeling well, but I'm getting back into it. I also started budgeting for food, so this helps with the budget. I work full time and I'm still tired with being pregnant. I also don't have much time after work to get dinner ready for DS's super early dinner time. (I get home at 3:30 and he's ready to eat at 4:30.) So I try to make meals that last more than one day and then give myself a break one or two days a week where we just eat cereal or pasta.
