Spit up

How much is too much? I know some babies spit up more than others, but at what point do you consider a switch in formula? DS is 3 weeks and doesn't see his pedi. again until 8 weeks. I'm not sure if I should make an appointment to discuss this with her or not?

  • I like this: https://similac.com/feeding-nutrition/spit-up-and-vomit

I'm BFing, so no formula switches, but she used to have one huge vomit a day (like 1/3 cup or more), it's slowed down a lot as her digestive system has matured. Plus they don't have great muscle control early, so tensing up to pass gas or poop sometimes forces things out the top too.

Thanks for the link, I think my major concern is the frequency of it. He usually spits up 2-3 times per feeding. It's not a lot, just feels kind of frequent. I hadn't thought of calling the dr, idk why I always assume you have to make an appointment :-/

Is he still having a normal number of dirty and wet diapers? When my LO was struggling with this, the nurse who took my info asked me about this in addition to how much he was taking during his feedings so she could give the info to the pedi before he called me back.

He still wets anywhere from 8-12 times a day, and has about 4 BM.
