  • Calm down, everything is fine - 19 weeks is a long time left to be in "panic mode."

  • I'm the opposite over here like... "should I be thinking about names, ehh I'll think of it later".

As for the nursery, I'm way less concerned given my first didn't even use it until he was 6 months old. I was so worried about getting furniture together and decorating. Man I could have saved a ton of time waiting to do that.

I actually feel like maybe I'm being a little too casual about this one. Which means I'll be panicking a a week before he's due when I realize I've done nothing!

  • Nope. I go into panic mode when my IF brain takes over...that's about it. Lurk a little and gain some perspective...be glad that decor and names are the only things you have to worry about.

This. I know my newborn won't care at all what her room looks like and her name is already picked out. I worry more about my PGAL brain than anything else.

  • I wouldn't worry too much about names and nurseries. A name will come and aside from a safe place to sleep, milk to drink, diapers, and lots of love, newborns really don't need much. Of course I have things on my mind about how DD will react to being a big sister, finding a good caregiver for when I go to work etc, but I definitely am not panicking. Things always fall into place.
  • FTM here and no panicking going so far. We barely just found out the sex of our LO, we're taking it easy on names although I did warn my DH that we should probably have a couple names decided before too long or I will be bringing it up. ;)

The things that are on my mind more have to do with how to take care of a baby. I have never handled a baby in my entire life except to hold one, maybe two for only a minute. My DH on the other hand has two younger siblings by 9 and 12 years plus a niece/nephew, so he has had plenty of "practice". However, het won't really be taking much time off when our LO is born, so I bought myself "what to expect the first year" to help myself be more prepared.
