Vacuum help.

Mine died today. I've been buying cheap ones and tired of them dying out on me. Any recs? Should I buy into the hype of the Dyson? I don't have carpet but I do have one large area rug, 2 small area rugs and mats. I do want something that works well for hardwood and tile too. This might be a post and run so TIA!

i bought a Dyson on woot for $170. it was an refurbished model but it works great on both hard floor and carpet. longest lasting vacuum i've owned yet. last i know they only featured it once or twice a month so unless you're willing to wait a bit and check everyday, my advice might be worthless.

I need something quick, I'm used to vacuuming everyday and if I have to go without for longer than a week I'll die. I WILL LITERALLY DIE!

my sister owns one and it's a pretty awesome vacuum. if i didn't find that dyson on woot at the right time then i would have went with the shark. i do like that it's more swivel-y and lighter than the dyson.

I love my shark. Its the purple one that has all the pet attachments. Works great and never clogs up.

I have a dyson and honestly, don't love it. I like the bissell my friend has a lot more, and have heard great things about the shark. If this dyson ever dies (which actually probably says something good about it, it's 6 years old) I think bissell would be my next investment.

I researched the eff out of vacuums before buying, consumers love shark more than Dyson. I have not been disappointed.

I have the Shark Professional 3 in 1 Lift Away and I love it. It's actually rated higher than the Dyson and is half the price. It works on carpet as well as hardwood.

I got the animal refurbished Dyson off overstock and I love it. It totally grossed me out the first time I used it and saw how much dog hair our old vacuum missed.

The best out there is a Rainbow vacuum cleaner but they are a couple thousand bucks and you have to buy through a dealer. My MIL has a dyson and she says it's pretty good but nothing compared to the Rainbow.

I literally just got a Dyson. I have only used it once, but I just vacuumed with my old vacuum and it picked up a ton of stuff from the area rug I didn't know was there. We have area rugs and hardwood downstairs. It's also a billion times lighter and easier to move than my old vacuum.

It's my Mother's Day/birthday present (I asked for it) and I'm pleased, but have only had it for two days so take that fwiw.

My vacuum died a couple of months ago and I sprung for a Shark Navigator. I looooooove it. Its lightweight, has that cool swivel head for easy turns, and is easy to take apart to clean it out. I was amazed by how much dirt it pulled up even though I had just vacuumed. I got it on Amazon for $170.
