Working mamas checkin

Anything fun and interesting happen this week? Anything you need to vent about?

Qotd: do you eat out lunch or pack a lunch?

Re: Working mamas checkin

  • Nothing fun this week. I missed Wed since LO was running a fever of 101.5 most of the day. Otherwise, its been quiet at work. Still hate the job though, nothing is gonna change that

QOTW - I pack. Working at the airport, everything is expensive. Even with the lame 10% discount, everything still costs more. So I pack everyday

  • This week was hellish! Work is crazy right now but I took three half days Wednesday through Friday to stay with LO, who has a fever. My DH stayed with her half days and then we'd switch. Thursday night he stayed at work til 10 to make up the hours; today I went in to work 7:30-11 and I will try to make up more on Sunday. I had to be back so DH could take my SKs on a camping trip with another family. I will miss his help dealing with a sick LO but I'm also kind of glad they're all out of the house. I was looking forward to getting some stuff done around the house during this trip but instead my house is a disaster and I can't put LO down without her screaming. She has a terrible ear infection. Ugh!!

Qotd: I bring freezer meals every Monday and have those for lunch at my desk. I use my lunch hour for pumping (30 minutes in the morning and again in the afternoon).
  • @petey1106‌ Is this a big move geography-wise for you? Or are you already near the GA region. I'm your neighbor to the north in East TN!

@mybabyhop we're currently in Denver, so it's a cross country move!

Wow, that is a big move! Welcome (almost) to the south! Y'all will love it here! :)
  • I had to go in early for meetings two days this week. So that sucked. Other than that it was a very uneventful week. It's mud season here (all of the resorts are closed for the winter but it's not warm enough yet to bring in the summer tourists) so it's extremely slow!

I pack my lunch every day! Gotta stick to our budget!!

  • This week was a but stressful. The co worker that wanted to leave is making the whole units life a living hell. I also got to review my results for the detective testing. I did better than I thought on some things but not as good as I thought on others.

Qotd: I try to pack and just do fast Food Fridays. Sometimes I stick to it sometimes I don't. All of my partners want to eat out everyday. Makes it hard to be strong.
  • @petey1106‌ what's that? A southern belle?

Lol. Congrats girlie! So happy for you.

  • Huge congrats petey!

I'm so over my job. They annoy me more everyday. I think working at night with an infant has taken it's toll on my attitude. On the bright side, LO has become really close with my dad, aunt, and DH since they're with her when I'm at work.

Question: pack lunch. Our cafeterias is closed by the time I get to work. Once in a while we order Chinese.

  • Nothing fun this week.... I am pissed about something though!! There is one person on my team that DOES NOT carry her weight at all (well, two). She recently had a different job assigned to her because her numbers are so terrible. So now, the rest of us are carrying even more weight, all while losing a temp who was extremely productive. On top of all of this, we don't have a supervisor..... yet.

This week went well. Some of you know I was offered a directors position in Georgia. After a lot of thought, I think we are going to go for it. I have to go through the interview process still, so we'll see what happens. DH is all for it and we are really excited even though we'll be moving away from my family.
So as long as the interviews go well we will probably be in Georgia by August!! YIKES!

QOTD: I bring a lunch most days. People think I'm so weird but I don't want to spend money on lunch everyday when I have perfectly good leftovers!
    Congrats! That's awesome!

I have hopes and dreams that one day my DH will get a huge promotion to his main office and we'll have to move to Denver, lol.

  • My new shift is kicking my butt. I do a double and two graves... And my LO hates sleep. But at least it pays ok and we're saving a lot in gas money with not having to take LO to a sitter. Who needs sleep anyway..?
  • Work is work. Same stuff, different day. I am so eager to go to graduate school. I need my Masters to start counseling. I don't think any job will satisfy me. I want to get into my career.

I bring breakfast and lunch everyday. It's far too expensive to eat out.

Nothing too out of the ordinary for me. But I have decided to take the position as the head director for the pregnancy center (think I briefly mentioned the offer in another WM check in). Il start training now and reduce time at my current job and then we're hoping for a full transition to me as head by January.

As fat as lunch goes, I don't work until the late afternoon so I'm always at home to eat

    Edit cause I can't spell

  • I usually bring my lunch and eat while I work to make up for time spent pumping. Last week I took the StrengthsFinder aptitude test because I'm feeling a bit lost in my career. I recommend it! It told me some stuff I kind of already knew about myself, but it also helped me define my areas of strength and provided some tips on how to take advantage of those strengths. Also, the actual test only took about a half hour.
