I haven't officially been classified as high risk but I was doing some reading and it looks like having PCOS makes me high risk. I guess we'll see once I set my appt with the RE.
Jan15 December Siggy Challenge: Holiday Fails
TTC Since 4/13 | Me: 28 DH: 29 | DX: PCOS + High T + Arcuate Uterus (11/13)
I'm not sure either. I had a late loss during my first pregnancy (the reason was never determined) so when i was pregnant with my daughter in 2012, I was determined that I was high risk which for me just meant that I had a ton more ultrasounds (basically an ultrasound from week 8 until the day before I gave birth). I wonder due to my history if they'd classify me as that again or not. We'll see on May 23rd (first appointment!)
I am pretty sure I am considered high risk. I miscarried last fall/winter in my first trimester. My doctor is already limiting my exercise/acctivity level.
I am considered high risk due to the fact that my body rejects babies after 30 weeks. I have four boys and my last three were born early. One was at 36 weeks, 2nd was at 33 weeks and last one was at 30 weeks and had to be in NICU. I also deliver very fast. With my last three 2-1 pushes after my water was broken they were born.
Just curious, how does having PCOS make you high risk? I have PCOS and my doctors have told me that I am not high risk. Should I be asking my doctor more questions?
Just got classified today and given the big red stamp. Thanks to a gene making me more likely to have blood clots, PCOS, and about a 90% chance of getting gestational diabetes.
PCOS--TTC since 11/2010:
5 cycles of Clomid: all BFN, 1 cycle of Follistim:CP
1 year break thanks to deployment.
1 cycle Follistim: BFN, Lap to remove peritubal cyst May 2013
2 cycles Follistim + trigger: BFN, Gonal F +IUI April 2014: BFP!!!!!!
I'm high risk due to OHSS, a complication from IVF. I'm 5 & 1/2 wks and have already been hospitalized (home now) and continue to be on modified bed rest, no lifting, no cleaning, etc. since the day of my positive beta. It has been pretty frustrating (I've been out of work for 3 wks now), but I'm trying to focus on the big picture.
We had a scary moment a few days ago when I thought I had miscarried (blood and clots and cramps and such) but it turned out to be heavy implantation bleeding. I'm 6 weeks along. There is still blood surrounding the placenta sac so my doctor tells me that I am at high risk. Basically besides going to work I have to be a couch potato all day in order to keep this baby alive.
I'm sure I will be classified high risk for a number of reasons:
1. Twin pregnancy 2. GD with both pregnancies 3. T21 and loss at 22 weeks with last pregnancy
TTC #3 since 8/2012 DX Endometriosis 2/2002 (lost left tube due to a cyst), PCOS 6/2010 BFP - 10/18/2012, EDD - 6/26/2013, Baby Girl lost at 22 weeks (T21), D&E 2/15/2013 BFP - 4/23/2014, EDD - 1/2/2015 Twin Boys lost at 12 weeks, M/C 6/25/2014 My charthereAll ALers welcome!
With both my pregnancies, around week 25 or so my blood pressure shot up. There was never any protein in my urine, so I never developed pre-e, but I ended up on bed rest and getting weekly NSTs.
I was told after having my first one 6 years ago that I would be high risk if I had another baby. I have not been able to get in to my Doc yet as they won't take anyone until 8 weeks no matter what. Our first appointment is May 27 so we will have to see.
I had intrauterine growth restriction with my first. We were induced at 35.5 weeks and she was only about 5 lbs. She had to stay for 10 days after I had her but has made up for it in the last 6 years. I worry that the same thing will happen this time.
High risk this pregnancy due to severe rapid onset pre-e and HELLP with DS. He was born at 29 weeks 3 1/2 years ago because of it. Luckily he's a happy and healthy boy now!
Not technically high risk (yet) but I have serious liver damage because of a rare immune disorder so my doctor is having me meet with a high risk specialist and will be working closely with my GI doctor to ensure my and baby M's safety.
I'm likely to be high risk because I had gestational hypertension with my DS. We ended up inducing just before 37 weeks and I was on modified bed rest for the second half of the pregancy.
