While I hate racists I also believe there is a lot more to him not wanting Magic Johnson there with her. I believe she was bringing them as a way to make her married sugar daddy mad/jealous.
I also don't think a boycott is going to make a difference. Yes he owns the team, but you are a fan of basketball and the players so support them. They had nothing to do with it.
None of the above makes what he said remotely OK.
Yeah but that's not the same. Posing with a black person shouldn't hurt your feelings. People shouldn't be calling him complaining about his gf posing with black dudes. He shouldn't tell her not to bring them. If she did something shady to get this out, I don't really care. Maybe there won't be any legal ramifications right now but maybe the next person who sues him for discrimination will be able to use this.

It showed their unity as players, and probably made them feel more in control of the situation.
Even if "he doesn't want his girlfriend snapping pictures with the guys and posting on instagram" and it's not that he doesn't black people, it's still extremely fucked up and racist. According to her lawyers she didn't release the tapes and there's nothing on there that would get her more money so I don't know why everyone is so mad at her and willing to defend him (or break it down, whatever you want to call it.). Him losing money and possibly his team doesn't get her more. And if she does get more money and "fame" at least she's not a racist prick.

Eta and I still don't care what her motivations were. People do much worse things all the time. No one got hurt here but him. Well besides the people he offended but id rather know he's a bigot than keep it behind closed doors.

First, what the players protest did was show that they do not stand by Sterling or the things he has said. It was a message to the fans. I do not think they should forfeit, they've worked too hard to get to the playoffs and giving up wouldn't prove anything except that sterling has that much power over them.
The girlfriend used to date him. She denies they were in a relationship but both she and Sterling are open that he asked her to be his archivist -- to record conversations because he often forgot things. He was fully aware he was being recorded. He has since contacted her trying to pay her off not to release hundreds more hours of recordings.
Unfortunately I don't think the nba has found a way to "force" him to sell. Even if he does he makes $800 million dollars and that's not a bad day for anyone. Fans, players, coaches and many other people are on the same page with wanting him gone. I love the team and the coaches and it sucks to see that the one writing the checks is a massive asshole.
And I would totally be down with Magic and his investors buying the team like he did the dodgers.

My point is and maybe it's a stretch - that it'll end up like that new movie, the other woman, and in their mutual disdain for the guy she may drop her lawsuit. It's a stretch.
