It sounds like she's ready to wean. Good job nursing so long! I made it to 16 months with my youngest as well. It's amazing to me that after all that nursing, in only a few days is seems like they forget all about it.
I think we have a harder time with the weaning than they do. It's always sad seeing that relationship end.
Well, after this morning I think we are just dealing with a nursing strike with bad complicating factors. She completely refused this morning, but then asked about an hour later. She has always been so attached to bfing this just all took me by surprise. She freaked out though when we sat where we normally do, so I stood with her and got her to latch and then was able to sit in a different spot. When she went to switch sides though, she latched and then unlatched, grabbed her mouth and said "ow." I'm thinking her 1 year molars are coming in. I felt bumps a day or two ago on the top on both sides. So, my supply is shot from being sick and not able to eat, DD likely has molars coming in, and to top it off AF decided to show up this morning, so I'm sure that is not helping my supply either. Grr.. I offered one more time this morning, and she latched okay and nursed on one side. She didn't want the other side like normal, but she didn't break off saying "ow" either, so I will take it. Hopefully we make it through this, but if not, at least with a couple mini sessions here and there the process will be at least a little more gradual for both of us... Thank you everyone for the support.
