Still not regulating? Or is this normal?

So DS (almost 6 months) is still a VERY frequent eater. He eats every 1-2 hours during the day and nights are still all over the place. Sometimes he wakes up 1-3 times, sometimes he STTN for 11 hours. Every night is different and there are no guarantees with him. I'm completely fine with that cause babies will be babies;)
The "problem" I'm having is I still leak heavily at night. If he has a "bad" night with multiple wake ups I'm fine but those nights he sleeps for 10+ hours I wake up rock hard and my breast pads weigh about a pound lol! I tried to hand express to comfort but I just felt more bruised after and mostly end up waiting until he wakes, or on the rare occasion wake him up. Is this normal for my body to not be regulated yet? I'm fine during the day unless we have the rare will go 3 hours between feeds and I only feel slightly full, but at night holy crap!
