How did you announce your pregnancy on facebook? I wont be doing it until i have ultrasound. But im wondering if people did picture, ect.. A lot of people ive seen do the shoes or _+_ not into that though.
My husband posted our 12 week ultrasound and tagged me in it. After we found out the sex, I posted, "It's a girl!" I'm not really into cutesy announcements and I'm lazy.
We posted the below picture and the comment said the following: What's one more mouth to feed? The C**** Family is growing again... only this time it's by two legs instead of four!
Me - 26 - Suspected PCOS
DH - 28 - Slightly low T and low morphology
Jan 2011 - Stop BCP
Jan/Feb 2013 - Normal hormone panel/HSG - tubes clear
April 2013 - DH's bloodwork and SA - low T and 0% morphology - Start DH on Clomid and vitamin regimen
May 2013 - start metformin for PCOS but ended up stopping in July 2013 due to elevated liver function
Sept 2013 - first RE appointment/follow-up SA shows 2% morph!!
We did not announce. We did one for #1, but wanted to keep this pregnancy a little less public. People know and there have been pics of me obviously pregnant, but no announcement this time.
I had a dating ultrasound then I waited until my 13wk appointment to make sure everything was checking out okay. No ultrasound at that time but we heard a nice and strong heartbeat. Close family and friends knew already, but we announced on social media after the 13 week appointment.
Planning to do the same this weekend for gender reveal. We figured we would have fun with it since it's our first.
part of me wants to post something on facebook but then i know that people who i barely even talk to anymore are gonna blow me up with messages. my family and the people that i work with were the first to know and the only reason the guys at work know is cause of my job in the air force i couldnt go out and work on the jets anymore so they knew by default, but all of them are supportive one is giving me a crib that his daughter doesnt need anymore and they said once we find out what it is they will give us clothes. (sorry bout the rant) but i think i am just gonna tell the world once baby is here and i post a picture of it
I put up a pic after our anatomy scan. It was the day after everyone was doing that "national siblings day" all over fb and ig, so I said I know we were a day late but C and A wanted to share their new sibling too

That's why we didn't do it -- I have a lot of facebook 'friends' who are just acquaintances, and we already know way too much about each others lives due to FB - things I would never know if FB didn't exist, and that would be just fine. The people who I WANT to know already know, because they are a part of my life and I told them... and if I was ONLY "friends" with people on FB who I was really truly close to, then what's the point of the announcement - just to AW? I get the cute picture thing, I really do, but I also don't need to open myself up to tons of comments, questions, opinions, etc...
As to the OP -- however you want, if you want. There's no rule, and it is just depends on how you want to handle it. I think the only "rule" really is that you and your partner should probably announce at the same time, or tag each other in the posts.
I had told everyone that I felt like it was important to share with, but figured I'd go 'public'. For Easter, I posted a photo of three Easter baskets. One done up for each of my girls, and a small green one I picked up, filled with faux grass and a pink egg and a blue egg.
We happened to be up at my alma mater for their annual scrimmage game. While there, we bought a onesie from the student center, took a pic of us holding it up while standing on their bridge over the stadium and said, "Newest fan arriving just in time for the fall football season!"
