Settle a Baby Name Debate for me

What do you think about Peaches as a girl name? 

DH and I had decided if this was a boy, he would have final naming rights and if it was a girl I would. So he is Isaac, all well and good. Well my name of choice for a girl was Peaches. I thought it was kinda rock and roll and a nod to my adopted home in the south, cute right? He STILL thinks it's a terrible name and won't let us even consider it for future children. ><

    I once knew a girl with a similar name (Peachy) and she hated it. I'm not opposed to food names, but Peaches sounds too cutesy to age well, IMO.

    Makes me think of Kaylyns (sp?) friend on Teen Mom 2. Not sure if her name is actually Peaches, but that's what they call her.

    I thought you posted once that you were thinking of the name Winter? That's what we named our DD and I love it, even though it's a little out there. I'm all for the unique names but I agree with PP's that Peaches is a little too cutesy for an adult.

    Her name is Peach. That's what I thought of too. Yeah, I watch that crap show....addict.

    I like different names, but Peaches is a no. It would be a cute NN or MAYBE even a MN, but not a first name. I just think "Peaches come in a can..." Like, people give me shit for my DD's MN being Persephone it is a legit name that's just not very common. I think you could find a way to give a Southern nod without using Peaches. Annabel is probably too popular for you now, but names such as that give me a "down south" feel.

    Awww! My cousin had her. I had Magic Moves Barbie- in fact, my mum brought her to the US for my girls (along with my Cabbage Patch Kid).

    If you think you daughter will grow up to be a pin up model I could see this name working but not really if she were to become, say, a lawyer, or the president or something.. that's just me tho.

    It sounds kind of hipster to me.

    That being said, I know someone named Peaches. She is a fortune teller.

    I would use it as a middle name, and let her decided when she is older if she wants to go by that or by whatever other name you gave her.
