  Yes! I have rheumatoid arthritis & chronic hives. Isn't that a lovely combination?? I've had it for 7 years now and I have my bad days and then I have my good days but I've suffered with this pain for quite some time now so I've gotten used to it. By the time I had my dd I had already had RA for 5years and it was easier to cope with. Relaxing is the only thing that helps me(even a 15min bath) now I'm pregnant with baby #2 and a little worried my pain may become worse.

  I have had RA for 4 years, and mine started with pain in my hands and feet (same on both sides and worse in the morning). It was definitely a shock to be diagnosed with something like this at only 30 years old, but I have a wonderful doctor who has guided me to find the right treatment for me. My symptoms have increased since having my daughter in September, so we're still working on that! Good luck with your appointment!

  lurking here but my mom had RA for the last 20 years, she got it after having her last baby, number 4, at 30 years old, I don't have any tips on how to handle it while pregnant cause she got it after.

  
  

  but it's an auto immune disease meaning if u go through something that suppresses your immune system for any reason (medication (like chemo), a different disease (like HIV), or a really bad emotional distress which is what happened to mom), and if your joints happen to be a weak point in your body you'd get it and unfortunately have to live with it as there isn't a cure for RA yet, there is only medication that you can take to manage the case.

  
  

  My mom tried so many different diets which claimed that can make you go medication free, she was barely eating cause she had to cut so much food off, had lost so much weight and was almost crippled by pain because she was off her meds, her right wrist got deformed because of how severe her RA was at that point. She then had to go back on her medication and was back to almost normal.

  
  

  she looked up Celiac disease and found out that certain food allergies could cause you to get diseases like RA by over consumption. Through that she got tested and found out that she is allergic to gluten and has always been but never knew, mind you she consumed all sorts of baked good like crazy, she started cutting off all gluten including products and is no going completely gluten free.

  
  

  She managed to cut down her medication doses by more than half the amount which amazed her doctor although he was very sarcastic when she mentioned Celiac disease and the allergy etc... he just kept telling her to take her meds and learn to live with it. She doesn't have as much bad days now as she used to before. Mainly she get an inflammation in a joint when she over works that joint now but most of her days she is absolutely fine but takes her meds non stop but a much less dosage of that.

  
  

  My point is it's something that you can definitely work with once you figure out the right dosage of medication and a little research on reasons of why you particularly got it and what might help ease it is in your best choice although Doctors dont seem to like it for some reason.
