Sore throat anyone?

So basically for the last few days I've had a really sore throat. At first I thought it was because my nose has been runny and probably draining during the night. Problem is, my nose has been screwed up since first tri. You think if it was that it would have happened by now. So I waited it out over the weekend and I'm completely misersble. Haven't slept in bed in 3 days because I lay down and instantly start coughing/choking. I'm calling the doctor in the morning but all I really want to know is if anyone has had a sore throat/strep and actually been able to take meds or is the doctor going to tell me to suck it up? I just need a glimmer of hope here. Lol.

    You mean the coughing/choking? When it happens its not really something coming up like reflux, its basically when something feels like its scratching my throat. I get a quick sharp scratch and I instantly start to cough. I keep checking it everyday to see if there are any white bumps indicating strep but haven't seen any. It doesn't just happen at night though. It happens all day long :( its just so frustrating and painful. Blah

    I've had strep and its not scratchy and doesn't cause you to cough, unless you have a cold or something too. Is your sore throat the only symptom? When I had strep, it wasn't like my throat was sore- it HURT. I could barely swollen. I also had a fever and wanted to do nothing but sleep.

    Oh but to answer your question- if it is strep, its not really something that gets better on its own, so I think they'd give you some kind of antibiotics, what ever you can take while pregnant

    Yep. I have it. My nose is also stopped up. Every time I cough I get a shooting pain to my stomach. Not cool.

    I do get seasonal allergies but never knew that a sore throat could be part of it! Hmm maybe thats what it is then. I called my OBs office and they basically said oh you can take this this or this. If it doesnt work call back. Um...alright. Lol. Guess I'll be making a walmart trip for cough drops in hope of some relief :(

    I hear ya. I hate when I cough and get belly pain. Just one more thing to worry about. Lol. It took me a good 2 hours to fall asleep last night because I couldn't stop coughing. Kept sitting up and sipping water to wet my throat and ended up drinking an entire bottle of water because I got up so much. Ridiculous
