Today was my EDD, so the last thing I expected was to have her today. Ds was a week late and 17 hours of labor. This could not have been more different.
At 3:30pm I started having random contractions. By 5pm they were coming every 4-5 minutes and were surprisingly strong. I got in the shower, and continued to try to manage them. By 6:45 they were almost unbearable and every 2-3 minutes. We got our bags, dropped ds at a friends house and went to the hospital. Good thing we did! I was 8cm in triage, and by the time I got to the delivery room I was 10. I already felt the need to push, no time for an epi or anything else really. I hadn't even finished the admittance process. My midwife was in another delivery, so some other doctor delivered me. One push to brake my water, maybe 3-5 minutes of pushing and she was out.
