Birthday Dilemma

DH just started a new job and tonight they drafted their shifts for May. He went in reminding himself not to draft the boys birthday day or their party, however, he had the day they were born in his head, Thursday, which made their birthday party day Saturday. The boys birthday is on Friday and their party is on Sunday. He is going to see what he can do, but he is the new guy. I've suggested canceling the party and rescheduling it for a Saturday since he now has Saturdays off this month. I would be out $75 but I would get $50 back (our cost for rent was $125). His concern is the invites are already done and ready to go in the mail. I figured I would send them out, but with a change of date attached. That might seem tacky, but the invites turned out really cute for my little super hero's. I am not really sure the point of this post, but what would you do. He is upset and I am sad that he is going to miss it if he can't find someone to pick up his shift that day. :(

1st u/s on 10/10/12: It's Twins! We found out on 12/16/12 that we were having two BOYS!
C & D were born on 5/16/13 at 10:46 am and 10:47 am

    That sucks!!! I'm sure he could find someone to switch a shift with!

    How big is your guest list? Too big to personally call everyone and change the date, if he can't find someone to switch with? I bet there's at least one person who would rather work Sat than Sun. 

    But if he can't, you could just let everyone know by phone, then the Friday before, send out an email that says "looking forward to seeing you on SUNDAY!"

    I would just call and email people to move the party to Sunday. Me personally I don't like to mess with my schedule at a new job for the first three months unless it's an emergency but again that's just me. I'm not good asking anyone for help either

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP

    Thanks ladies. I had suggested seeing if someone would switch days, but he was hesitant to do so because he is new. After some thought he is going to see if someone will switch. If no one is willing to switch than we will go from there.
