Thoughts, prayers & love for your Southern neighbors

Today marks the 3 year anniversary of the devastating tornadoes that hit the South as well as other parts of the country.

Unfortunately, we're expecting bad weather & possible tornados again for the next three days. As many of you know, once you experience a traumatic event it can be terrifying to consider it happening again.

For my area of Alabama many were without power for a week, phone service & etc. Of course this was the least of worries in comparison to lost lives, homes & etc which did heartbreakingly occur.

Please remember our area over the next few days with thoughts & prayers that everyone stays safe.

Agreed @skeemer (even tho you are on the wrong board :) ) Looks like we are in for another scary outbreak. Although I don't think anything will ever compare to 3 years ago.

    ETA : stay safe everyone!
  • I will definitely keep that area in my t&ps
  • Hope everyone stays safe!
  • Be safe, fellow southerners!

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • Thank you all for the prayers! I'm in North Alabama and am very nervous about today after that scary day in 2011. Praying for all to stay safe today.
  • @MrsBHM and @Wareagle1220 hope you are safe - the sirens are going off here, and I just saw that there was a likely tornado in Athens and possibly the Harvest/Hazel Green area (as well as some other sightings a bit southeast of there).

Thoughts and prayers to you girls and your families! Tornadoes are scary business! Stay safe!
  • Stay safe Northern Alabamians! I don't know if we have any Mississippi ladies, but sounds scary over there. Hope everyone is safe!
  • @wareagle1220, glad to hear that the first round missed ya'll...I hope that the others will steer clear too.

Hope that everyone else in the storms path is/remains safe as well.

  • So sorry @astalyons‌. I'm glad you are all okay. It's so hard to rebuild, but communities do amazing things in the wake of disasters. T&Ps for all of you!
  • The first couple of rounds missed us by a few miles. We've got all our stuff piled in the storm shelter if we need to jump in...I'm thinking it'll be a long night :-/ Stay safe y'all!
  • My parents live in Alabama and my mom called me to let me know what was happening (I hadn't be following the news earlier today). I know we have some ladies in Alabama so I just wanted to say that I am thinking of you as well!! Stay safe.

@astalyons‌ I'm sorry to hear that but like you said Praise God everyone is okay! I will pray for them and everyone who is still in the path of these horrible storms!
  • Hoping everyone is alright this morning. My area was cleared about 10 pm last night, thank God. The nasty weather hit close to here though & we do have some confirmed deaths.

My heart goes out to everyone touched by this weather. A friend's dad in Tupelo, Ms has bad damage to his home.

    @UGABamafans

Haven't talked to you in a while. Hope you & yours are all doing well. **hugs**

My home town was completely destroyed last night by the violent tornado that tore through Vilonia, AR. It is so devastating. We live about 15 miles away from where it hit. I am so thankful that all my friends and family are safe. Some of my friends lost everything but still have their lives. Praise The Lord. Please continue to pray for the two communities in AR that were hit. Thank you!
I'm so very sorry! Thank God they are healthwise okay.

MS and AL Bumpies, everyone ok? I know I had some friends and family with really close calls. Thinking about y'all.

We're okay. Minimal damage to trees and such but nothing worth being upset over. Looks like we have more storms coming today :(
  • All went north of us. But that was scary when the storms ramped up again late last night. Not looking forward to round two today. Hope everyone else is okay as well!
