Sunday victories!!

We are the champions.... Of what this week?

Re: Sunday victories!!

  • We've had 2 naps in the crib that were an hour long! Even though it was only 2, Is much better than the 20 minute max naps we usually get!

  • I survived my first high fever with LO...she was just so sad. Luckily it was over in 24hrs, and you would never know she was feeling crappy. Now if the teeth would just finish coming in...

  • DD is finally back to just waking up at around 2-3 then back down til 6ish then back down for a couple more hours.

Huge improvement from up every 2 hours.
  • I didn't punch the finance manager in the face last night while we were figuring out everything on our new car.... so that's a plus!!

My victory is sticking to what I said (excluding last night) about not leaving the house this weekend and it was wonderful. We have been running like crazy every weekend, and it's been exhausting. I think I need to lay low with LO for a while and just enjoy quiet weekends at home for now.

  • @PB102012‌ you got a new car?!?? What kind?? Congrats
  • @nnikki10 I had another issue with my current car on Friday that's being corrected, but DH decided that he is taking that car and getting rid of his current one (it has way too many miles and is way too small to hold LO's convertible car seat and other passengers comfortably).

We have been talking about getting a crossover for a while to lug all our stuff around and have been looking at the Acura RDX FOREVER, and we finally went and bit the bullet and got one! It's on a truck coming from Vallejo today so it should be here tomorrow hopefully!

  • @PB102012‌ How exciting!!! Post pics when you get it. The extra room is going to be so nice.
  • @nnikki10 I will! I am looking forward to the extra room, the V6 (I downgraded when I went from my Altima to my TSX on engine size), and the cup holders! It sounds sooooo silly but the cup holders in my TSX are so stupid. That's most only complaint about the car- the cup holder cover comes over from the left, but it doesn't completely open so cups dont sit properly in it. I will see how long it takes DH to have the cover taken out completely given the fact that he's on a first name basis with the girls at Starbucks.

  • @PB102012‌ cup holders are very important!!
  • Went to a going away party for a friend yesterday who's moving to Calgary :) made cupcakes to celebrate her little boys first birthday (he turns one next month). It was a great success and we had lots of fun.

The day was really busy with visiting my mom who had a seizure friday and visiting Ryker's great grandparents and making mac n cheese for the potluck all before 3.... and on almost no sleep! when I write it out it doesn't seem that victorious haha

@shivers7 I need a good mac n cheese recipe? Do share!

Our victory today was getting the yard cleaned up from all the leaves and hanging pictures that have been needing to be hung for at least 2 mos, lol

It's a variation of a Campbell's soup recipe... I alter it every time and don't measure but here it goes:

Package of pasta cooked until soft- enough to fill your casserole dish
    Head of Broccoli steamed
3-4 cloves of garlic (we love garlic so sometimes I add more)
    Spices to taste
Lots and Lots of shredded cheese
Can of cream of cheese soup
    Half a can of milk

Mix all together and add to your casserole dish, top with lots of shredded cheese and some basil. I skip bread crumbs but i"m sure that would be good too!

Sometimes I use quinoa instead of pasta too, which is delicious :)

  • @PB102012‌, we have an MDX that we bought in December, and we love it! DH commutes in it every day, and we drove it 10.5 hours to/from my ILs' for Xmas with LO, the dog, and all our stuff for a week. It made a very long trip totally bearable. It's a big SUV (bigger than the RDX), but it drives like a smaller one - very easy.

My victory this week is LO's weight. She's had weight gain issues from the beginning. I was pumping & supplementing after 6-7 feedings a day for the first 3 months, then we finally worked through her milk transfer issues and started eliminating supplements one by one. We were finally able to eliminate the last supplement in early January, and she was gaining great, even jumping from the 3-5% up to the 10% at her 6 month checkup in mid-February. However, when I went back to work in late February (and LO started DC), her weight stagnated and even started dropping. She only gained 10 oz. in her first month at DC (pedi would like her gaining at least 4 oz a week). Well, she just finished her second month in DC, and she gained 1 lb. 9 oz! She's still a peanut at not quite 16.5 lbs, but I'm so glad she's back on track and gaining great!

That sounds good! I've tried making Mac and cheese from scratch and it's never cheesy enough but this recipe sounds good!

  • Technically, it's Monday but I haven't gone to bed yet so it's still Sunday in my head. DH and I just got back from a 3 day country festival. I was a wreck about leaving LO but she did amazing with my parents. They said she was happy the entire time and slept at night. I kept getting pictures of her smiling, so it helped my anxiety of being away from her. It was hard and I missed her like crazy, but I didn't have any meltdowns or tears. I was able to have a wonderful, much needed vacation with DH. It was awesome to spend time with him.
  • @Caz1221 I like the MDX a lot! It's beautiful! I have driven it as a loaner when my car has been in for service. It's just too big for our little family. :(
